I talk about advertising, unionisation, and gaming a lot. I have fur babies and food comas. Prone to an occasional rant (soz).
Thank god there‘s a change in the weather.

Instead of rain, we now have freezing rain.

Just been ranting at my wife about how cool palm pilots were. I mean, they’re pretty cool. Then I see that people are selling them as ‘vintage‘ for hundreds of pounds. I like the idea of people rediscovering old tech from the beforefore times, but don’t be lame about it.

This is such a beautiful film. And has all the best bits of community that really make America great.

Read a great YouTube comment about the Mandalorian Super Bowl trailer.

"And that's what it feels like to drive the Tauntaun F-150"

👌

Not seen any Super Bowl ads yet or read any LinkedIn posts about it. Actually going to try very hard to avoid the whole thing.
It’s the time of year when the people who think they're clever are especially noisy. No thank you. The Winter Olympics are on and that’s far more compelling.

It seems impossible to me that Epstein wasn’t an active or important asset to one or more intelligence agencies.

If that is ever confirmed, which it probably won’t be now, a lot of things would become clearer in terms of who has what on who and how they got that information.

Watching the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

I love Canadians. 🇨🇦🍁❤️

Starmer stepping down seems inevitable and maybe it is what Labour needs to mark a genuine shift and begin mounting an attack on Reform.

They don’t stand a chance right now and a Reform landslide will happen.

So, who has it in them to convince the public they're a better bet than Farage?

Do people who put the word "leader" in their LinkedIn title know how that sounds?

Can someone explain the economics of ladders to me?

They are the most expensive basic thing.

But why? 🤷🏼‍♂️

If you’re Canadian, is it a rite of passage to go to the forest and build a log cabin? Literally every Canadian I follow on YouTube ends up building a cabin. It’s like if you watch them long enough they’ll eventually feel the pull of the cabin. The inescapable Canadian urge to cabin.

You know what I miss? Those plastic little containers that contained photographic film. I love the little lids. The feel of them. What a strange thing to suddenly mourn. I’m sure they’re still everywhere. They’re just not in my daily life as they once were when I was growing up.

The staggered release of the Epstein files will go down in history as the longest dead cat story in history.

Working in advertising is bonkers.

Last week we did a film shoot with a wolf.
Or at least we were meant to until the wolf couldn't make it.

Which is when I heard the CD say, "Don't worry, Thom. We have a backup wolf."

That's right. We have backup wolves in advertising.

The backup wolf was great!

The campaign I’ve been working on which will piss off most of LinkedIn has been approved by the board.

Haha I can’t wait for everyone to tell me why they hate it.

ICE is rumoured to be heading to Philly next, to be met head-on by a populace willing to fight them.

This leans into confrontation that ends in the White House declaring Martial Law.

If this is the plan, then they want people shooting at ICE.

Think of the optics - it's the birthplace of the USA.

I keep thinking of that scene in the Handmaids Tale before the fall when they’re at a protest and the fascist law enforcement open fire on them with machine guns.

The shock of them actually doing it. The sum of everyone’s worst fears. The helplessness after.

I can’t help the feeling it’s coming.

Something I can’t quite wrap my head around with the US as it is today, is that the primary reason given by the Right Wing voter for the right to bear arms, is to protect themselves and their families from a tyrannical federal government.

How are they not up in arms (literally) as well?

Went on LinkedIn and saw one of the social 'strategy' people claim that someone getting 5 million Instagram 'views' should get the same money as someone attracting 5 million people to watch a TV show.

This industry is collapsing under the weight of stupid people in positions of authority.
