As a Portlander it's been kind of surreal seeing the mass media image of the city as embattled hellhole that's been pushed since 2020 (thanks to state propaganda during the George Floyd uprising) suddenly dissolve in like a week.

One of the "reporters" on the show called her a narcissist and a monster.

If we're going to be consuming this material, we need to be conscientious of True Crime docs' sensationalism and unethical practices.

And be weary of repeating it.

i'm not gonna lie, every time a genuine and influential figure dies (Miss Major, Jane Goodall, etc), it feels like the world got a little darker even though I know it's not possible for those same people to live forever. still, im glad to have lived in the same time as them

That doc was very irresponsible in its reporting. Did it even mention that he forged her signatures on multiple occasions and risk her losing her life's savings?

Or that her mental health issues stemmed from her multiple miscarriages?

Like we shouldn't blame the mother for her son's sins.
