Adding onto this, I feel a greater interest in "lo-tech" knowing the corporations can't fuck with it if it's been obsoleted. It's not really controversial to say this but a lot of things just shouldn't connect to the internet.

I wouldn't mind a lot of shit being handled electronically if a lot of it wasn't just "Here's a smartphone app. For your Convenience, your ability to perform this relatively basic function with us is now at the mercy of Google or Apple, assuming we don't kill our own service first."

Imagine if pen and paper was like this.

Imagine only being able to choose between two paper manufacturers, and right when you run out of pages they both "push an update" at the factory. The next time you buy paper it's the "new and improved" paper that tears as soon as you try to write on it.

I acknowledge Nintendo has had a history of reissuing the same game again for newer hardware but at least with something like Link's Awakening DX, that at least had oh I don't know *fucking color*. This is a new low, even for them.

Something I *really* don't think Nintendo gets enough shit for lately is their current fixation on "Nintendo Switch 2 Editions". That Wonder DLC contains fuck all that couldn't have been possible on Switch 1, its exclusivity to the new console is entirely artificial.

I want to say secondary controls, like how the N95 has media-specific controls in addition to its keypad. I do not want to make such assumptions about Peter's phone without further insight though. It makes an "ass".

They seemed more focused on making the Bowser fights a technical showcase for 360 degree movement, rather than making them actually *fun* to play. 2/3 are over in like 10-20 seconds!

All of my Steam games run pretty much on-par with how they would on Windows, though I am strongly considering switching away from Nvidia which has given me problems - both in and out of games. I don't play Roblox or Fortnite, so if they're that much against Linux then I can live without them.

Mint is great, I see it recommended a *lot* especially towards beginners/Windows refugees. It's what I use and referencing the official documentation, installation is about as easy as softmodding your 3DS. (it's surprisingly easy)

Unless your shit *depends* on Windows then the time to switch to Linux is right the hell now.
