She flashed a goofy smile before heading to the door. The walk felt rather quick but it seemed as if she had led them to an antique shop rather than a bar.

Besides, Magic is an area that he is not familiar with. Perhaps he can gain an ally here even if they don’t see eye to eye

The merc stayed quiet and even still for a bit at her request. Seemingly contemplating her suggestion. Finally his hand lifted up to grab his mask and take it off, revealing his experienced face.

“I was more thinking you hire me to kill some sort of magical creature messing you up.”

He asked with a genuine tone. His body language much more relaxed now that he knew he wasn’t being targeted. Though he was still a little tense now that he was told her magic was a bit wild.

Plenty of magical villains out there could run rampant with powerful magic users like Zatanna gone. Of course all of them have asked Slade to take her out.

Too bad there’s something within him that refuses. It almost feels like there’s a spell on him…

It’s very rare for Slade to get a contract outside of earth. Something that he would be rather interested in taking on. Maybe from a race who experienced his wrath.

Plenty of people who don’t like mutants. Any number of them that would want her dead, or just want to take out all of the X-men

Slade isn’t one to dislike mutants, but he’ll take a job all the same. After all it’s a crime for idiots to keep their money.

Her eyes followed his movements, making sure to keep her guard up just in case things go south.

With his sword now sheathed, she gave a calm sigh. Though her face quickly shifted to an embarrassed expression.
