Dear he who shall not be named,

Here is a response to your absolutely adolescent, shameful Easter message full of lies and hate as always. You and all your supporters and enablers. Estimates so far at 4 million nationwide despite the holiday weekend.

Love,

Wisconsin
And at the same time we all need to be working to collectively build systems of support and new systems period that actually do support liberty, justice and the pursuit of happiness for all.
If it is safe for you to be there, show up at the protests nationwide tomorrow. Those of us who are less targeted need to do all we can to put ourselves on the front lines right now and fight with all we've got.
And if they are not ok, if anyone in our community is not ok, none of us are ok. Even if we fool ourselves into thinking we are.

This sh#t has got to stop. The sh#t has got to change.
Between the fear of being yanked off the street, student visas being revoked and being deported, the passive aggressive racism that I have heard many students express they have experienced here, and how emboldened people are to be explicitly racist and horrible...they are not ok.
I had a really heartbreaking conversation with an international college student this afternoon...our college students are not ok.
It is overwhelming right now and can be hard to hold onto hope, but we have to keep fighting for them. For our children. For our future. No matter the outcome we have that responsibility.

Keep living. Keep loving. Keep fighting.
To know the true history of this country so they can honor and celebrate the stories, contributions and brilliance of all people, not just white men.
To know the true history of this country so they can work not to repeat the past and to move forward in new ways.
To have humility.

To know it's ok to cry.

To know when to step up and when to step back.
To have respect for all people.

To know how to build and nurture relationships.

To love deeply.

To respect and honor the earth.
May we teach our sons, especially the ones who will grow up to be white men, how to grow into the beautiful, authentic, loving, respectful, vibrant, thoughtful, intelligent, creative people they can become.
...we went to Lucas' parent teacher conference at his public school.

He led the conference, and this was some of his work. Brought tears to my eyes.
While 47 and his already filthy rich entourage are boasting and laughing about the latest absolutely shameful and utterly unlawful abuse of their positions of power to play a roller coaster game with the world economy to screw over the rest of us to put billions in THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL pockets...
Keep fighting. Keep living. Keep loving. Keep dreaming.
Spring is a time for renewal, new beginnings, life bursting forth unstoppable and inevitable. Lets ride that wave of energy, the will of the people is also unstoppable and inevitable and if this weekend showed us anything it is that we are millions and we are strong.
How do we continue to fight while also starting to dream about what pieces we need to start putting in place to build new systems that actually do create a country that supports liberty and justice for all?
We have gotten a lot of practice in the past few months with working in a reactionary way, fighting against what we DON'T want.

I think simultaneously we need to be fighting in a proactive way, thinking about what we DO want.
Systems where lies and manipulation are the norm. Where money can buy the direction of this country. Where liberty and justice for all doesn't actually mean all.
The fact that this has happened is a symptom of bigger problems. Of systems that are too susceptible to being driven by self-interest, greed, and an unquenchable thirst for power.
