I can just offer anecdotal information but my experience, especially with wolf furries, is that most are shockingly misinformed- this includes therians as well.

Back on my new feral wolf 3D model after putting it aside for a while.
Left = original sculpt | Right = current version.
Pipeline: ZBrush (sculpt) → 3DCoat (retopo & paint) → Blender (everything else).
Pushing for a more realistic look this time.

For me, it also fluctuates with the lunar cycle. All my best work was created around the time of a full moon. It’s a nightmare when I start something good during that phase but don’t finish it in time - because afterward, it sometimes feels like I’ve forgotten or even unlearned everything.

You don't want freedom- you want to hate without consequence. You can think what you want. You can say what you want. But things have consequences and one might be that people voice their opinion on your opinion and choose to treat you like the a**hole you are.

That can be part of social Phobia though (it us in my case). It's not about not wanting or enjoying being social but fearing judgement beyond any reason. Which leads to said pressure. But I get what you mean- if it is "just" that it is hardly full on social phobia
