The only thing hardware wise I need to do for this guy is install a NIC because it only came with a dialup modem I also might look at downgrading the GPU to be original. I threw in a PCI GeForce FX 5200 because I had it available but the system originally came with a GeForce 3.

TIL some of these SATA to IDE adapters on Amazon are trash and just do not work with old computers at all. Should have just spent the extra few dollars for the Startech one to begin with. 🙃

Would be nice if you took care of customers with broken products. Over a year ago you got my money for rugrats, and then paperweights that kill systems were shipped. Since then radio silence. What a scam.

It’s been 6 months and they still haven’t replaced defective Rugrats carts. This company can rot and nobody should support them after they repeatedly scam customers…

After the nightmare of dealing with UPS and tariffs I finally able to upgrade my Amiga 500 with a ACA500plus! Was able to overclock the CPU to 28mhz and it seems stable so far.

It’s one of those things they’re similar enough I feel I should find a home for one of them. I also wondered about trying the full 68040 in my 575 to give it FPU or using compatible parts from both the 610/475 to make one of them as maxed out as I could.

Both of these computers have been sitting around since I got them as part of a bundle and I usually use my LC 575. Installed MacBatt and BlueSCSI (using my 575 drives images lol) and they both work perfectly!

Now the real question is what should I do with the both of them. Besides a cleaning.

I just sat on hold for three hours to speak to UPS because they assessed an incorrect tariff rate. The rep told me the AI on their website gave the incorrect phone number to call. The person said they could not transfer and asked I be patient with the hold time. I got a lil mad.

Now the real question is. Do I do a clean install of Windows 98SE or XP? OR do I use the original restore disc... with Windows ME... First I need a bigger hard drive in here though. The original was gone and I just found a 15GB for testing.
