Summary:
A muted explosion of bubbles, waves, and freezing cold tells Xingqiu he has fallen into some body of water. The impact knocks all the air out of his lungs, and his mouth instinctively opens to gasp; he has to clamp a hand over it to physically suppress the urge. It hurts. His chest throbs from the effort and he wants nothing more than to swim to the surface, whichever direction that may be in—but as soon as he opens his eyes, angry flares of purple lighting up the murky water around him completely snuff out his hopes.
Please, he thinks, as the Rifthound's blazing glare draws near, help. Morax... someone... anyone....
