does anyone know how the high impedance headphone output detection actually works on M1 macs? it's able to run my DT 1990s flawlessly so i've not used an external DAC/AMP for 2 years now, but i'm troubleshooting a very minor hiccup with it that causes lower than expected volume

i wish i could use my DT 1990s everywhere but unfortunately they're open-backs and there's a lot of noises outside of my house . i went back to regular non-ANC closed backs one time (with very good isolation) and was aghast at how much city noise i could still hear on my commute
