In these truth-elusive times, I try to avoid conspiracy theory wormholes as much as possible.

However when Amazon abruptly removes ALL traces of a book called “Conspiracy & Populism: The Politics of Misinformation” from its catalogue, it does make you wonder what sort of censorship is at play 🤔

I just found my old Little Professor 🤓

Us kids of the 1980s had to amuse ourselves with these while we waited patiently for the iPhone to come along 😂

First released by Texas Instruments in 1976, it sold over 1 million units in 1977 alone.

Did you have one of these? Have you still got it?

It’s #worldbookday which seems like a most excellent excuse to dig out my treasured collection of iconic Penguin Classics! 🐧📚🧡

All collected by Simply Textbook over recent years from members of the academic community 🎓

Which ones have you read? Which is your favourite?

Happy New Year!

Did you know… 2025 is a perfect square year?! 🤓

45 x 45 = 2025

The last example of this was 1936 (44 x 44); and the next one will be 2116 (46 x 46)

I don’t know the full significance of this, but hopefully (all fingers crossed)… it’s all good! (Orange presidents aside, obvs) 🤞🤞

I just dropped off some parcels at the local parcel shop, and saw this lovely memorial for the very first time, despite going there most days.

Bob - I never met you, but it seems that you were one very cool and much loved cat. 😻😿

RIP Bob 🐈‍⬛

When you collect second hand books professionally, some titles grab your attention more than others.

This one seems very timely 🇺🇸👀

Hello Bluesky! 🦋

I created this account a few months ago, but didn’t get very far setting it up.

Now the time has *definitely* come to abandon my account on the rancid cesspit called X 👎👎

Please follow! 🤝
