Trying to listen to as many Grateful Dead shows On This Day in History as I can ⚡️ And sharing pictures of Rocky Mountain National Park when I remember to 😬

If I had a nickel for every blimp pirate…
Ha I still don’t know how to post here 🥴
They were showing Shakedown outside the venue live and I was like holy shit, I have to get down there right now! Called my friend and we immediately left the burbs and headed into town. I had no idea about the scene at that point, at all.
Then BOOM 💥
Here you are,
Here’s your tribe.
Dance ✨
I had seen a a bunch of concerts before this, I was all about live music at a young age. But this was soooo different.
I got home from school, and was probably watching The People’s Court lol, when the teaser for 5:00 news came on…”Deadheads are taking over the streets!”…
My first show anniversary!
It was my 17th bday and I asked my parents to buy me tickets. They came through with Row 10, Jerry side. This night changed my life, in so many ways. Cheers Deadheads! ❤️⚡️💙

Was working at a record store in those days, and you could always count on this one to sell a stack of cds at the register whenever we put it on. Thanks for the reminder!
This first set was such a rollercoaster! Combine that craziness with the black pyramids going around back then…melted..
at setbreak, I was on my way out the door in full panic mode when I ran into a friend in the same headspace and thankfully the lights went out for set two and we held in there. 😵‍💫
Thanks for the reminder! I was there and haven’t listened back in decades. Holds uP!
I remember when I was 17 and watched the NCOD on Oprah and cried my eyes out the entire episode. I came out shortly after 🏳️‍🌈
Thanks for the reminder!
He had a lot of local treasures in there. Just brutal.
Doug Brightwood! Damnit BS give me an edit button wtf. 😬
Dave Brightwood’s shop. The amount of instruments coming in and out of his shop is a devastating loss to Ned’s musical history, which is vast and includes SCI, YMSB, LOS, Elephant Revival, Magic Beans…and that’s just in recent history. Caribou Ranch recording studio is when it all started. Dang.
Very Nice Brewing Company,
They were about to celebrate their 13th anniversary 💔
Devastating. I lived there for 20 years, and most of the businesses there had been there just as long or longer. I’m heartbroken for my little town that time forgot.
The Menil Gallery is my favorite!
To be fair, Houston is pretty low on the tourist scale, but certainly high on the first timers scale.
Kuykendall…looking at you, Houston 👀
I always appreciate your posts and insights. Thanks ✨
This has wrecked me.
