Urban Cycling Guerilla 🎨 Paint is not infrastructure

Further confirmed in the latest public tender for the K2B/C extension. This really is a pathetic "attempt" at cycling infrastructure. All the talk about making cycling a viable option in the future feels quite disingenuous when they are unable to even make a continuous network on a new avenue.
Suggestive bike lanes of just 1.25 m are far too narrow for safe and comfortable cycling. They even invite drivers to overtake dangerously close — we need complete infrastructure, not half-baked concepts

Has anyone seen Gehl?
The mobility study is running — but no updates, no results, no transparency. Where are we headed? Who’s in charge? We demand answers. Now.

Someone has to challenge planner Teams with a new perspective;)
Dei mat den rouden Velospisten jo.
Extrait aus dem Projet de loi
Hm beim Projet de loi war nach eng durchgehend Velospist an ordentlech Raccorden op de Pläng 😬

Digitizing a broken process just gives you a broken digital process. The same goes for bike lanes — painting a bad design red doesn’t make it safe or effective.
The advantage of red bike lanes is that you can easily spot bad design and bike lanes that are not connected.
Connecting bike lanes is overrated ... 🙄
The planned bike lane on Kirchberg for the tram extension (K2A) is once again not continuous. This fragmented design creates conflict between cyclists and pedestrians. If we’re serious about sustainable mobility, we need coherent planning—not another patchwork solution
Quo vadis, Velosexpresswee Richtung Norden?
@mmtp-lu.bsky.social @yurikobackes.bsky.social

Missed opportunity: @yurikobackes.bsky.social didn’t respond to the criticism of the narrow 1.50 m bike lanes on CR154. It would’ve been the right moment to rethink and improve the project. In 🇳🇱, 2 m is the new norm – Luxembourg still has a long way to go for safe cycling.
👉 Cyclists are still expected to share bus lanes, and the bike path network is fragmented and inconsistent.
👉 The final roundabout lacks any connection to Rue de l’Église, cutting off a crucial link in the network.
👉 Even worse: in some sections, the bike lane is only 1.00 m wide, far below any standard for comfort or safety. 🚫
🗺️ If Luxembourg wants to promote sustainable mobility, we need safe, continuous, and comfortable cycling infrastructure – not narrow lanes and broken links.
📉 This is not what a safe and future-proof cycling route looks like – and certainly not the fast cycling route promised in the #PNM2035. The planned connection between Heisdorf and Dommeldange? Still nowhere to be found.
The N7 in Walferdange is finally being redesigned – but the cycling infrastructure still falls far short! 🚴‍♀️❗

After years of waiting, the redesign of the N7 in #Walfer is finally moving forward – but anyone on a bike quickly sees the flaws.
