Xenoblade Chronicles Key Art!

I think the exploration of ZA gets better once you realize that Pokémon can still be encountered outside of the wild zones and there’s more inter connectivity with going up on roofs and into the water systems.

However nothing I’ve seen beats the maps of Arceus

New art! Absolute Batman Transformers homage! Inks traditionally done, had fun with this one!

So overall B/B-, good game but felt like some choices made it weaker.

I am enjoying it, and I’m gonna play more, the dlc, and hopefully play with friends but those are my initial thoughts and impressions.

Now for the AZ Battle Royale…I like it, it’s an interesting idea, but they do something mid game I don’t like with it. I won’t spoil it but I will say it involves reaching Rank F. It felt like it messed with something that they didn’t need to.🧵

Further stuff I liked:

-Plenty of side missions you can do, which do give you hard to find Pokémon

-Plenty of character choices with regards to buying clothes, hair cuts, and accessories.

-The live combat plays well

-Wild Pokémon attacking you still feel threatening. 🧵

The entire city is playable, there are Pokémon who can be found in the side streets, the trees, the roof tops, in the river/sewer tunnels, etc.

Plus I think it’s important to remember it’s all one big map open map that you never load into.

So I think looking at it like that it’s impressive. 🧵

However, Luminose city is still really cool and I think it’s actually fairly strong.

Because people I think are focused on the zones being small, which yeah it’s kind of small and it’s where most Pokémon herds are as well as the alphas.

However, you can’t look at just the zones 🧵

So how does it compare to Arceus? Honestly it’s not as good as Arceus.

I say this because the changes to the map environments and mobility do have a slight negative impact. The city looks great but the designs aren’t as cool as the fields in arceus and I miss galloping and flying around the map 🧵
