With goal to conserve 30% of CA's lands & coastal waters by 2030 (30x30) & increased conservation interest in the Diablo Range, the Sierra Club CA/NV Wilderness Team took a 3-day study trip through the area which has tremendous contribution potential to the 30x30 goal.

This is a fairly challenging 9.5 mile hike. 🥾🌲 Start with a sustained ascent, walk along the ridge marveling at the land regeneration from fire, long narrow canyon trail & finish through the redwoods. Hoping to see lots of FUNGUS AMONGUS!

Join our Sierra Pathfinders on 11/16 for this 8.6-mile trek , with a 1,450' elevation gain. Instead of the exposed summit, the group will dive into the heart of the preserve via the Hamms Gulch Trail. With 90% on single track & 10% of the time on double-track fire roads.

There'll be birdwatching, botany observation, and a fun day hike in the wonderful Coyote Hills Park, which is right on the eastern edge of San Francisco Bay. The group will walk on the boardwalk in the marsh and see wildlife and, hopefully, the early winter birds.
