Once upon a time I use to cook professionally. Now I cook for my family & friends. I post about food and cooking because eating and sharing meals brings people together.

New jar of Marmite. I love it with toast and cheese, and a spoonful is often that little extra boost for a soup to add more flavor. 🍽️🍜

Pita pizzas for dinner - since we’re traveling in a week, using up things in the house. The one on the right was a Taleggio and tomato one that has left the housing smelling wonderfully delicious. 🍽️🍜

Winter salads are my favorites to make. Typically I use fennel but tonight I used cabbage, carrots, romaine, pickled red onions and navel oranges with an extra virgin olive oil with lemons and sherry vinegar vinaigrette. 🍜🍽️ #saladsky

For years I used my great grandfather’s menorah that I was given at my Bar Mitzvah, but now I use my mother’s menorah which I inherited two years ago. She always loved to light Hanukkah candles. It warms my heart that today, on her Yahrzeit, I light them in her memory

Happy Hanukkah. #hanukkahsky

Tea and chocolate are two things I won't cut corners on. I'd rather drink tea at home, where I can make it properly with boiling water. Similarly, I would rather buy fewer high-quality chocolates than eat cheap mass-produced ones. 🍜🍽️

The easiest thing to make tonight were turkey burgers. What I enjoyed eating the most, however, were the oven roasted potato wedges with mayonnaise. I eat fries as an excuse to enjoy the mayonnaise. 🍽️🍜🥔
