Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

I know I have talked about how living through a war feels but it needs to be talked about more

a sketch page of Nico as a monster (Monster Hunter universe) He is a hulking Fanged Wyvern type monster, resembling a mixture of large cat, otter, bear and, naturally a wyvern. His body is mostly covered in sturdy scales, bumps and ridges poking out here and there, with areas of fur lining his chest, stomach, legs and tail. Nico's signature hairstyle is made up of a leathery sail, akin to one that some reptiles have. The part closest to the face always lays rested and styled into the shape of his bangs, while the part going along his neck actually has the ability to stand up, showcasing that he's a fearsome threat. His sail is tattered and his body is scarred, indicating that he has been in many a battle, and has a bit of a territorial nature. Nico's fighting style is more about strength, usually the brute kind but don't let that fool you 'cause he's actually pretty cunning and smart, and poison since all the spikes are coated with a naturally secreted type of toxin. There are multiple rows of teeth lining the inside of his mouth, with two large "tusks" protruding from the lower jaw. The claws on both his front and hind legs are very sharp and are great for slashing and stabbing. The claws on forelegs are non-retractable and very long, perfect for digging through earthy soil, while the hindlegs have retractable ones. monsterNico can actually stand up on his hind legs and climb rocky ledges, as well as trees. The sketches on the page are as follows: upper left shows a fullbody of the monster, with a little silhouette of a human for height and size comparison; a bit lower are doodles of Nico's front and back paws, showcasing the difference in claws and shapes; on the right is a doodle of monsterNico's head with a closer look at some smaller details. a sketch page of Niners as a monster (Monster Hunter universe) He is a massive Elder Dragon. His features are that of a wolf-like dragon with fur and feathers. Two smooth horns sit atop his head, base of said horns hiding behind each long pointy ear. A regal fluffy mane adorns his neck, going all the way to the base near the torso, traveling slightly lower to the big pointy crystal on the chest. The tip of the tail also has a tuft of fur lining it both on top and at the bottom. Puffed out feathers sit on the shoulders, serving as a little gradual change from the fur around the neck to the large feathery wings on the back. monsterNiners' body is beefy, with distinct groups of muscles being easily visible around the arms, chest and back. The forelimbs resemble human arms with paws being distinctly hand-esque in build, 5 fingers upon each paw, while the hindlimbs are that of a canine. His horns and eyes are aglow similar to the sketch on the left but the way they're lit up is different - the horns look as if the light is more contained within the crystalline structure. The thin skin around the cheeks on Niners' face letting through a bit of the light of the elemental attack too. The last sketch on this page, the one closer to the middle, located below the ice beam attack one, shows monsterNiners showing his teeth as an intimidation tactic. He is a very serene Elder Dragon by nature, preferring to co-exist in harmony rather than fight and present an aggressive attitude. However, if he gets threatened, he tends to use intimidation in order to deter further conflict. He will attack - or, more like, defend himself - when he's in grave danger and conflict is completely imminent.

not sure if I will ever finish these (mostly 'cause I really love how they look as they are rn) but here are two tarot cards (inspired by those from DA:I) with Nico and Niners!

Nico's tarot card has cigarette smoke in the back ('cause he smokes a lot), bits of fingerprints (as a nod to him being a detective), his halo is made our barbed wire, it's also dark on the inside to show that he is no saint in a typical sense (plus it's a reference to a song called Black Halo), the foreground piece of the card is a heart, a bleeding one with cuts all over - it shows that he aches and aches a lot, there are feathers poking out of the heart and it's a reference to a line "live a lie and let the vultures in" from Des Rocs - Maybe, I His scarf turns into a pool of splattered blood (a nod to the scarf being connected to his sister who is dead at the beginning of the story; plus the scarf itself is red so there's that) The symbols over his left eye are a reference to the recurring nightmare that keeps haunting him, anger and sense of justice Niners has an angular halo with a circuitry pattern, his tie transforms into a chain as a reference to him being a loyal dog, gunshot holes are a nod to him being selfless, the blue symbol on his forehead is a mix of clarity of mind and also a nod to him gaining the ability to think for himself (once he breaks the limits of his programming), the wavy lines that flow onto his shoulders represent android blood (it's sorta an hommage to an old art piece I've never finished, it's called Cybernetic Perfection and it's kinda like a more artistic/heavenly rendition of how Niners was made; it basically has the vibes of those old paintings where gods are born) His hands are more flowy in shape in order to establish a connection with the ocean/water (since that's what I associate him with) And last but definitely not least - the star-like shape! It's a reference to a "soul", to his humanity that he gains, and his hands are in this specific position 'cause he is shaping said "soul"
