I’ve met many families in St. Matthews who were heartbroken when the sports hall closed.

So I’m working with residents to ensure the community centre is relocated smoothly.

But the call for indoor sports facilities is loud and clear - that’s why I’ve taken this straight to the top in Parliament.

Delighted to be part of the launch of the Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership for Leicester - empowering families and ensuring lived experiences help shape safer, more equitable maternity and neonatal care.

Whether it’s the two-child benefit cap, Winter Fuel Payment, or disability benefit cuts, Labour follows the same shameful pattern:
November 27, 2025 at 11:51 AM
One of my first acts as an MP was tabling an amendment to scrap the 2 child benefit cap

Labour dragged their feet while 109 children a day fell into poverty under their watch

But now, that changed - the cap has been abolished

I’ll keep working to ensure tackling child poverty remains a priority

84,000 hospitality jobs have been lost since the last Budget.

I visited Leicester’s Belmont Hotel and saw how hard local businesses are working to keep doors open and staff employed.

Thats why I'm pushing for a Budget that backs our high streets & supports hospitality.

Grassroots football is where it all starts: building friendships, fitness & futures.

Massive thanks to the whole team at Aylestone Park FC for making sure every local young person has that chance!

As a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Football, I’ll keep championing our local clubs!

One of my first acts as an MP was to table an amendment to the King’s Speech to scrap the two child benefit cap - a punitive, dickensian policy.

Ending the cap would lift millions of children out of poverty. Millions.

Labour must act before this policy robs even more childhoods.

As an optometrist, I've seen the power early detection plays in saving not just sight, but also lives.

Encouraging research shows the potential of retina scans spoting Parkinson’s 7 years before symptoms manifest.

The government must act now and fund early diagnosis programmes.

People. Powered. Politics.
That’s what this is all about.

Massive praise to every single person in Leicester who fought tooth and nail for our much-loved libraries.

Every petition, protest and voice mattered.

Let's keep the momemutum going for fair outcomes for Leicester’s community centres too!

The Covid inquiry sadly confirms what so many families already knew:

Loved ones were lost because of political paralysis and corrosive dysfunction at the very top.

We must keep the spotlight on these catastrophic failures & ensure lessons are learnt, not forgotten.

Earlier this year, our libraries faced the very real threat of closure.

But from toddlers to pensioners, our community came together and made local voices impossible to ignore!

Together, we’ve sent a clear message: people power can triumph over top-down decisions.

Fireworks are fun and lively this time of year, but I’ve heard from lots of residents who worry about safety and animal welfare.

Proud to support campaigns for safer, more considerate fireworks.

So proud that Crown Hills has won a Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Award! Such an important initiative helping pupils start the day. And even more special as it’s my old school too!

A government that promised hope has fuelled a youth jobs crisis.

Every lost opportunity for a young adult is a long-term loss for the country.

I’ve spoken to so many young people who feel left behind.

The Chancellor must reverse course before we risk a generation slipping through the cracks.

We must ensure our policies do not fuel hate or be tools for scapegoating, political point-scoring, or mere headline grabbing.

They must never sow division.

Honoured to join the Sikh Community at today’s Nagar Kirtan procession and celebrating Sikh & Punjabi heritage at Guru Amar Daas Gurdwara

A beautiful reminder of the warmth, diversity, and togetherness that makes Leicester South so special.

I was honoured to host Esme's Umbrella in Westminster to push for CBS support, affecting over 1 million people.

As an optometrist, I've heard the fear in patients’ voices facing vivid visual hallucinations after sight loss, driving my commitment to ensure no one faces CBS alone.

Inter Faith Week always highlights the strength of Leicester. People of all faiths and none come together through foodbanks, youth projects, remembrance events and shared celebrations.

Unity is, and always will be, our greatest strength.

Let's keep building bridges, not walls.

Samir Zitouni’s actions were nothing short of heroic.

I’ve tabled an Early Day Motion in Parliament to recognise his bravery.

Wishing him a full and speedy recovery in hospital.

Inclusive healthcare saves lives.
No community should be left behind.

Youth workers change lives.

They keep young people safe, build confidence, open doors, and strengthen our communities.

If the gov't is serious about safer neighbourhoods and brighter futures, it must give youth work the funding it deserves.

Great to meet with Meals and More UK to discuss strengthening the Holiday Activity and Food programme.

Many families in Leicester rely on this really valuable support, so I'll be working hard to champion it.

Zohran Mamdani’s victory sends a clear message that too many forget:
Politics starts with people. Always.

Congratulations @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and all that stand for social justice, equality, and people driven change.
