Again, what if we just didn't buy or talk about the shiny new game from the dog shit trillion dollar publisher that's trying to drive the industry into the ground while also actively supporting a genocide.
That would be super cool.
Did I just have to fight a Mime in E33…
This game might actually be too French.

I’ve made it to about where I noped out the first time in E33. Playing on Story difficulty to offset the fiddly combat. Might end up with the Persona problem tho, where on easy the combat is too easy.
I’m going to persist though.

Mario Wonder did one thing.
It made me wish that Nintendo would actually do Mario Maker 3.
Give creators more power to do non-standard stuff.
Keep all the art styles.

The big appeal of native Sw2 games right now is being able to isolate those games from all the weird AI, asset flips and Hentai puzzle games that populate the eShop.
If you're releasing a Sw1 game in 2025, I'm never going to see it.

Also, don't support Embark Studios.
Fuck Arc Raiders and it's AI bullshit.

Don't support MSFT.
Pirate, if you must play this stuff.

Man... why the fuck does Acrobat Reader have an AI assistant.

lol Merit Styles getting ejected for saying the Ford Gov't is corrupt.

It is.

Doug should spend the rest of his life in jail for what he's done to the province. Him and any of the people that went along on this ride.

Embarrassing ass province keeps voting him in though.

I don't think I realized that the Xbox Series X was $80CAD more than the PS5...

It's starting to feel like every second game announcement is just a re-release and it's getting to me.

Guys...
Stop playing games from AI-first devs.

These games might be "good" now, but the more we normalize AI usage, the more likely it is to make games worse in the long run.

For people considering this;

The hardest part is picking the "right" distro.
If you have Nvidia GPU, I'd personally recommend the more traditional desktop distros like Ubuntu or Mint.

With AMD, if you're gaming... pretty much anything should work. Bazzite seems best if you want min management.

I restarted E33 on Story mode, and it does make some elements of the combat less obnoxious.
I’m still not a fan of how the opening hours just throw a lot of narrative ideas and game play systems at you in quick succession.
Still a pretty game tho.

In the same way that I don't think anyone should really care about the Game Awards, I also don't think anyone should care about what a washed up eSports dudebro turned streamer has to say about the Awards.

A port of a 12yr old game, that his fine... but being handled by one of the worst port studios, is not something I want on Switch 2.
And honestly, this kind of nonsense is the exact thing I'm frustrated with the game industry about.
This doesn't need to exist. It's for no one.

The biggest sign that the AI bubble is about to burst is that the billionaires are divesting from AI, and the legacy corps that traditionally don't invest in tech are jumping on.

Part of me hopes that the last minute delay of Forestrike on Switch was to accommodate for a Switch 2 native patch (almost 100% not happening)

I regret to inform the gamers, but if the qualification of "Indie" requires 100% self-funding and self-publishing, almost nothing is indie.
November 17, 2025 at 10:51 PM
Picking a fight with ABK on the AI debate feels like a waste of time, because the majority of the people buying CoD are oblivious to this stuff, and even when they aren't they don't care.

It's better to pick the battles with more niche games like Arc Raiders or the idiot CEO of Arrowhead.

I wish gaming discourse was more than "I like thing" or "I don't like thing" because I'm more than willing to revisit things that made a bad first impression if someone could actually make a case to explain why I should.
It's too easy to surround yourself with like opinions for that to happen tho.

My award for best iterative sequel of the year goes to Monster Train 2, as it's the sequel that needed to iterate the most to increase the quality the way it did.
The original game is a solid 6 or 7 out of 10. Monster Train 2 is one of the best deck builders on the market.
November 17, 2025 at 7:34 PM
The best games I played this year were pretty safe and predictable iterative sequels.

It's probably why I look back on this year so negatively from a gaming perspective.
November 17, 2025 at 7:16 PM
I've been dreading the end of year gaming discourse, because I think the game that's going to garner a lot of praise isn't very good and is being carried by a lot of romanticism about what the game is/means in the midst of a decaying industry.
