An extraordinary situation has arisen in NSW, and inland rivers and internationally significant wetlands will miss out on vital watering this season.

Essentially the rivers are being persecuted as if they are stealing their own water.

Vast areas of Casuarinaceae species have been removed across Australia usually to exploit the fertile soils these species create being both a nitrogen fixer and a creator of organic aquifers. Migratory parrots in particular use the abundant Casuarina seeds as travel snacks👍

The lawless violent behaviour, the spraying of pepper in peaceful protesters' faces, the smashing of windows with hammers for no valid reason in the US by Trump's 'Brown Tongues' has precedent.
It is the same behaviour seen performed by his Jan 6th insurrectionists.
No doubt many are the same 'folk'

And a golden-leafed form to boot. Great story behind this species. Only known as a fossil and presumed extinct before its rediscovery in 1944. Brilliant Autumn foliage as well.
Like the Wollemi Pine, it is now found worldwide in botanical gardens and parks
