Sorry for manuscriptposting again but finally seeing John Shirley's (best) anthology of Chaucer, Hoccleve, misattributed Deschamps, naughty anon French poems, and ofc DAUN JOHN LYDGATE (mummings!) is very exciting. And the Wren is beautiful

Those of you who would like to hear from me about Alain Chartier's many excellent hats: it would be lovely to see you at the Medieval Church & Culture seminar (Harris Manchester, 5.15pm)—plus another presentation involving (I hear) Sámi bear graves? What's not to like

One of the most extraordinary books I have seen - BnF MS français 126 - Cicero and Alain Chartier illuminated by the Talbot Master (of the Shrewsbury Book). You can tell it's France (rip Charles VII) in the second pic because she looks sad and apparently also because of the rabbits in her dress

Tremendous pleasure and totally mortifying to play Jesus in the new HistoryHit doc on the medieval Apocalypse — do go and watch for @liber-ray.bsky.social's Burt's Bees on my hands for 'stigmata' — thanks all!
