The local organization helps victims of domestic and family violence, sexual assault and other types of abuse. Help is still available but crisis intake will shift to the phones instead of being available via walk-in services beginning Nov. 24.

Numbers reported to the state today show just over 64,000 ballots have been counted in Shasta with only about 1,500 remaining. Original ballot estimates reported to the state last week were significantly higher than the near-final numbers.

Over 97% of the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area was burned in the Carr Fire, including WES. The damage halted programs for children that have been in place for decades. Five years later, WES is still working to bring back its beloved overnight camp.
