Rak'tika Greatwood. G'raha Tia, seated in a vibrant field of flowers in a land which we recognise as Il Mheg. He is dressed in the same sturdy longboots he wore at the Find, centuries before, and light archer's armour retrieved from the Tower; a travelling pack, and a lightweight bow rest at his side. His right hand is fully crystallized to the wrist, though yet lacking the gold veining we will come to be familiar with. He wears a leather cuff in an effort to protect the raw flesh at the seam, but worries at the back of his hand regardless. His face, too, is now marred with a slash of blue across his cheek - an injury sustained in transit from the Source, which healed in crystal.

Indistinct in the background, as yet unseen by G'raha, a familiar fae figure flits, intrigued by the newcomer.

Night in Mor Dhona, in the Eighth Umbral Era. The sky is unusually clear and free from smog, the stars visible. G'raha Tia sits before a watchfire, surrounded by Ironworks generators which glow faintly. Closed at his side is a complete copy of 'Heavensward'; in the distance, bracketing the image on one side is the Tower, and on the others, the Keeper of the Lake, barely seen. G'raha is unkempt, unshaven, dressed in rough survival gear, and quite alone.

He tugs off his gloves, a hint of reluctance in his furrowed brow, his tense jaw.

The garments removed, he stares down grimly at his right hand; mostly obscured from view by the flames of the campfire.

Rahan Gryf, an aspiring Magos Explorator, was responsible for uncovering the remains of a lost human civilisation from the days before Old Night. Previously uncatalogued, the science of this world was based on nanotechnology with the signature appearance of shining crystal. A mishap on the expedition saw Gryf infected with these nanomachines - recalled to Mars, the technology proved no less obscure to their fellows, and its effects impossible to reverse. Gryf was removed from duty as Explorator but permitted to continue their existence in order to study their affliction, which has largely remained dormant in recent decades - however, the crystalline nanomachines fiercely reject any further mechanical augmentation to their body, immediately healing any injuries or incisions with their own impenetrable framework, leaving Gryf somewhat of a pariah among their colleagues for their fleshly visage.

Zefiris, once known as the Mortal Whisper, held a name of some repute in the arenas of Commoragh - but fell utterly under the spell of Yvraine when the aeldari made her mark there. Quick to join the her crusade as the Dark City fell, Zefiris was purged of the soul-thirst alongside her fellows - but the habit of carnage was not one she cared to abandon. Quickly disillusioned by the growing hopelessness of the Ynnari's scared quest, she found herself an unlikely offer of employment among the Imperium - perceiving the new Order as a perverse and deeply ironic joke, she was only too eager to join, and quickly discovered that the brutish pulse of a bolter in her hand was as oddly thrilling and novel sensation after centuries of elegant, macabre slaughter-dance in the Dark City.

Following the Primarch's alliance with the Eldar witch Yvraine, rumours arose of a heretical hidden Order within the Adepta Sororitas: remnants of the Wych Cults of Commoragh - each minded by a Mechanicus Adept - slaking their thirst in mocking service to the Corpse God.
