A fan made poster based on the SEGA game “Altered Beast”. The poster depicts a werewolf on the left hand side in combat with a giant demon who is throwing its heads at it. There is a zombie demon, and gargoyle type creature rushing towards the werewolf as well. There are trees, graves, and stone architecture in the background. A fan poster of “The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.” The poster features Link standing upon a mound of earth with the logo underneath, and a bunny version of link mirrored below. The background features the light world at the top, and the dark world at the bottom. Several other characters are depicted in the background and in the sky. Key art for the indie game “Octopus City Blues.” The images depicts the main character up front nervously looking behind him as other characters are scowling at him. The background features the main hub of the game, with various buildings and strange architecture throughout. There is a giant tower with a large, red eyeball and tentacles under an ominous purple sky in the far background. A poster for “The Binding of Isaac” based on the original artwork for DOOM. The image features Isaac atop of a cliff with an army of demons perusing him below.

Hi #PortfolioDay
I'm Carson, a Chinese Canadian illustrator who's been working in freelance illustration since 2012
I've run my own t-shirt company, made emotes and overlays for twitch streamers, and also worked on a couple indie games.

I'm also a partnered twitch streamer - I stream 4 days a week!
A digital sketch of a woman-like shape made of gnarled wood, flesh, and flowers. The majority of the upper half of her head hollowed out and missing.
In a void in the figure's back, the face and hands of a woman peers out, cold eyes looking at the viewer. A digital sketch of a nightmarish elk made of humans, bone, and gristle with its head raised toward the sky.
A four armed figure wearing a helmet holds up a small object that looks like a foetus. A digital sketch of a person holding up a gnarled staff to ward against a large horned and feathered creature and several other humanoid creatures. A digital sketch of a 3 armed woman. Between her palms is the brightly glowing form of a cat. Erupting out of the cat are various flowers and plants. The woman is a teal colour, and the flowers are a warm purple.
I realized I forgot her huge ass and tits. Sorry everyone

Starting a new drawing over on Twitch tonight! Link below 👇
Again though, I think you have a solid foundation based on what I’ve seen of your work. Ink is permanent, but I don’t think there’s such thing as a “wrong mark.” It’s up to you when it comes to your art. Don’t be afraid to dive in and experiment endlessly!
As far as shading, I would look at an artist you admire (like Junji Ito) and study how they approach shading in their work. Keep in mind that artists like Junji Ito are masters of their craft and have been drawing for many years. So don’t be hard on yourself for not getting it the first time.
I’d suggest that if you’re intimidated by the permanency of ink, you could always re-draw an older drawing. Either by tracing it with a light board, or just redrawing it with pencil, then inking over it.) That way you can focus purely on your inking.
Finishing up this guy tonight then hopefully starting something else. Watch it live below! 👇
I checked out some of your art and it’s honestly rad! Really cool and creative concepts. I love all the body horror. You’ve got some great shape composition going on. I do notice that your drawings are mostly pencil with little bits of marker here and there. What’s stopping you from using ink?
Hit me up with whatever you’re struggling with! Always down to help however I can
Going live with some drawing tonight! Link below 👇
