Despite Republicans efforts to cast No Kings protests as “hate America” protests when the reality is that they were “We love America” rallies and calls to protect democracy.

Sanders: In my state, people received notices from insurance companies that their health care premiums in some cases would triple or quadruple. That is going on all over the country, at a time when we already pay by far the highest prices in the world for health care…
Thousands gathered in Indianapolis at No Kings singing National Anthem together. We love our country. We protest because we want to protect and defend a democracy Trump and Project 2025 are destroying.
At the Indiana Statehouse where protestors are demanding that legislators JUST SAY No to illegal attempts to suppress votes by redistricting to ensure 2026 election victory. #NoKings #NoCheating
This original poem by Sierra Rainey, an Indianapolis-based poet, needs sharing far and wide. It is an incredible statement re: the state of America’s democracy and the state of the human, in general She debuted the poem at Voices4Democracy’s Constitution Day Festival. youtu.be/ccLk1_Nq_R8

I’ve said it repeatedly these past months since the inauguration. “We the people” are the only ones with the will to save democracy because those in power are more interested in saving themselves. Turns out, at least one journalist agrees: www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Came across this feature from NPR today. It’s a timely reminder that kindness happens every day all around us. It just doesn’t get reported much. Read and let your spirit be fortified. We all need stories that inspire hope in the goodness of others.

After fireworks caused her dog to panic, a stranger offered them a ride home
Lara Friedman was walking her large rottweiler on July 4 when fireworks went off. Her dog went into panic mode. Then a stranger offered to help, ensuring both got home safely.

At Indiana’s statehouse waiting for rally to begin in protest of the gerrymandering Republicans want to push through to try to ensure all 9 of Indiana’s congressional seats go to Republicans in 2026. This is NOT how our founders envisioned democracy because it is NOT democracy. #StopTheSteal

Well they did a pretty great job on defense against Seattle Tuesday night, and they did reasonably well against Minnesota, the best team in the league, by far. I wouldn’t say they can’t defend as much as I would say they struggle to consistently defend.
I can’t think of another team who has had such a disastrous string of injuries as the Fever. The loss of CC was bad. Then losing Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson in the same game? Then Sophie Cunningham? Agree they are at high risk of getting bumped from playoffs. CC likely won’t return in time.
“We make it very unattractive for people to step up to the plate and run for office,” per Sen. Ron Johnson (R).

No. What makes it unattractive is how incredibly expensive it is to mount a campaign. It appears that if you get elected, it’s pretty much a windfall.

Pretty bleak. Why won’t America wake up? It’s up to the civil organizations in America now: businesses, churches, universities, labor unions, and community activists. The Supreme Court and Congress have abdicated: www.nytimes.com/2025/07/15/o...

Good trouble in Indiana. Protestors gather at Indiana’s Statehouse to protest fascism, which has come to America with the Supreme Court’s decision to let Trump dismantle DOE and Congress greenlighting establishment of American Gestapo, concentration camps, and denial of immigrants due process.

It’s definitely not good for the 18-year olds. I suspect it ruins a lot of young peeps who are not ready for the atmosphere and culture of money and fame at age 18.
No @warnock.senate.gov they are not reading the same Book. I’m guessing they’ve never even cracked open a bible as Matthew 25 is pretty darn clear as is Matthew 19:24, Mark 10:25, and Luke 18:25. I encourage those in favor of BBB to study all of those.
SENATOR @warnock.senate.gov : “Are we reading the same Book? The Book I know says ‘I was hungry, and you fed me… I was a stranger, and you welcomed me… insomuch as you’ve done it to the least of these, you’ve done it also unto me.’”

It’s not just age restrictions, it’s roster size restrictions. It’s crazy to expand the playing schedule and still cap teams at 12-player rosters. Teams need more depth to offset injuries and enable them to have more limits on playing time to protect players from overuse injuries.
This is sick…just sick.
