my husband & I went to a small protest (about 100 folks) in a "red" VA rural county; at one point a man walked past the protestors with a red hat that said "Trump was right about everything," people smiled at him & waved at him, he did not respond, but just went on his way, perfectly safe.
love your sign, I have a T-shirt with those words, great message!
It's natural in USA for protestors to be mostly very old or very young; these are the ages in our society that aren't tied down so heavily to jobs and family obligations; it's wonderful when those in the middle can make it, but life is often hard during those years of family and career building.
why in the world would he think this video portrays him positively, why would anyone like a "leader" that dumps "shit" on the ordinary people of his country.
my personal response to T's AI video of himself as a king in a fighter jet: why in the world would he think this video portrays him positively, why would anyone like a "leader" that dumps "shit" on the ordinary people of his country; to me it seems much more like a video his critics would make.
In Gate City, VA yesterday at the No Kings rally the participants spent as much time talking to each other as waving their signs at passers by, and that was important, to create new connections, to build community among those fighting against authoritarianism in a region that mostly votes "red."
Greeneville, TN - my husband's home town.
Good for you. Don't have any grandchildren of my own, but damned if I won't fight for everyone else's grandkids to grow up in a democracy.
Gate City (pop. 2,000), Virginia, County seat of Scott County (pop. 21,400), had a larger than expected turnout at it's No Kings with 103 adults humans and 3 dogs (some of whom wore signs). #nokings

We march because we love America.
Don't let them say otherwise.
Made my sign for tomorrow (Oct 18) specifically as a response to GOPs scurrilous lies.
yes, in a little town called Gate City in southwestern Virginia.
we feed several feral kitties from our back porch, this morning they showed their gratitude by leaving us a dead chipmunk (ground squirrel) as a gift. The gift may have been well intended reciprocity, but we declined to eat it. ;)
I thought it was a parody.
It was foggy this morning when I took Alice to the vet over in Pound, VA. The colors are beginning to pop, although we are a ways away from peak color at this point. I love running errands in October, getting to watch the progression of color.
I've been to 13 on the list, born in Miami, grew up on the west coast but went to college/grad school and live in the east, but never been to Texas or Hawaii, and while I've been to some parts of Arizona, I've not been to Pheonix.
