Hurricane #Erick rapidly intensified from a tropical storm to a Category 4 hurricane in the 24 hours leading up to landfall. This is the East Pacific's 5th named storm, 2nd hurricane, and 1st major hurricane of the season... the average dates for those are July 23, July 15, and July 15.

Here’s what’s ready to flow into the @TijuanaEstuary and the Pacific Ocean when it rains. This is the Tijuana River channel on 12/15/24 that is used as an “unofficial” but really official garbage dump in Tijuana. Garbage trucks dump their loads directly into the channel.
