Exciting Update❗
This Saturday at Michigan City City Hall, I’ll be hosting a town hall to discuss the mid-decade attempt to redraw Indiana’s Congressional maps. I’m thrilled to announce that newly sworn-in Rep. Randy Novak will be joining me as co-host!

I hope to see you all there!

I urge my colleagues to stand on the side of fairness and democracy, not political manipulation. Do what is right for Indiana and for the people we serve. #INForAll
Hoosiers across the state have made it clear that they strongly oppose mid-decade map rigging. In 2021, Republicans called these maps "perfect." If that is true, what is wrong with them now?
Nothing more than a power grab to distract from broken promises like lowering prices. This is nothing more than a political power grab, an attempt to silence voters, suppress diverse voices, & drown out the voices of minority communities.
JD Vance returned to Indiana to pressure Statehouse Republicans into rigging our state’s congressional maps to secure two seats. We’ve heard the “after-the-fact” manufactured faux justifications. But remember, Trump came out and said that quiet part out loud, “Go find me seats.”
2/2 They’ve witnessed firsthand how much public education has changed and bring a depth of perspective and wisdom that only lifelong educators can offer. A huge thank you to ISTA for welcoming me into your conversation! #INForAll
1/2 I always love talking with teachers, especially those who dedicated their entire careers to supporting generations of students. It was both a blast and an honor to have an open, honest discussion with the ISTA Retired Teachers about what’s happening in our state.
✅ What continues: Social Security, military ops, mail, air travel, ICE
⚠️ What’s affected: federal office delays, limited national parks, delayed pay for 24K+ IN workers, possible SNAP/WIC disruptions, food bank uncertainty

The longer it lasts, the greater the impact. #INForAll
As of last week, the federal government has officially shut down, and one of the most visible local impacts is limited staff at IN Dunes National Park.
As your State Senator, I’m not part of the federal budget process, but I’m here to represent you & share how this affects SD 4.
With a full house, the question was posed asking who was opposed to redistricting this year, and everyone raised their hands.

Please keep speaking up & holding lawmakers accountable. Let’s continue the pressure to reject any mid-decade attempts to rig our congressional maps.
Thank you to everyone who came out for the Gerrymandering Town Hall this weekend!

It was a great success, and your thoughtful questions and engagement showed how much Hoosiers care about fair representation and transparency in our democracy.
🚨 Reminder: Tomorrow! 🚨
Join us at Portage City Hall for an important discussion on the political effort to rig Indiana’s Congressional maps.
This is your chance to learn what’s happening, how it impacts YOU and what we can do together to push back.
Hope to see you there! #INForAll
Statehouse Republicans are pushing to redraw the districts in a way that could eliminate Congressman Frank Mrvan’s seat and weaken YOUR representation in Congress.

Join us to learn more, ask questions & stand up against this attempt to rig the maps. Your voice matters! #INForAll
Mark Your Calendars!

Next Saturday, October 4, I’m hosting a Town Hall with Rep. Boy and Rep. Moseley to discuss the recent news about a possible Special Session to change our Congressional maps. This directly impacts you.
The Secretary of State is hosting a public meeting in Northern Indiana to discuss the timing of municipal elections.

This is your chance to share your perspective directly with the person responsible for key election decisions. Make sure your voice is heard. #INForAll
I joined my colleagues from NWI in raising concerns about the EPA’s recent proposed rollbacks in our region. IN has been ranked last in the nation for environmental quality for far too long. I will continue to advocate for strong protections for our environment and public health.
After many insightful discussions, I am committed to making this a reality to strengthen public transportation in our state. Improving transit has always been a priority for me, especially with the successful expansion of the South Shore Line in NWI. #INForAll
I had the honor of serving as an Indiana commissioner on the Midwest Interstate Passenger Rail Commission and was able to attend their annual conference in Kansas City. It was inspiring to see the investment other states are making in high-speed rail and public transportation.
🎉 Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! 🎉
We celebrate the rich history, cultures & contributions of Hispanic & Latino communities. As the first Latino in the Indiana Senate, I believe representation matters. Let’s uplift voices, honor traditions and embrace our diversity. #INForAll
On this day we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed and the first responders who ran toward danger on 9/11. Their courage and sacrifice continue to inspire us.
Had the pleasure of visiting Opportunity Enterprises & seeing the incredible work they’re doing.

Despite shortsighted legislative cuts, their passion remains strong. I’ll keep fighting to fully fund programs like this so Hoosiers get the support they need. #INForAll

Good News Friday!
Proud to sponsor SB 141, creating clear procedures for police lineups & witness IDs. With wrongful arrests from facial recognition on the rise, this ensures we uphold “innocent until proven guilty.” Grateful to help move this forward. #INForAll
