If we stopped giving away taxpayer dollars to the wealthiest corporations, we could fully fund our fire companies, EMS agencies, and 911 systems — and finally give first responders the resources they need to do their jobs safely.
And let’s be clear: this 'manufactured budget crisis' isn’t about lack of money — it’s about misplaced priorities. Every year, billions in corporate tax breaks are handed out while essential services go underfunded.
Many fire departments rely on volunteers who need better access to training, equipment, and support — and 911 centers across our Commonwealth are stretched thin, running on outdated technology and overworked, underpaid staff.
Our EMS teams, firefighters, police officers, and 911 dispatchers deserve more than our gratitude — they deserve the resources to serve our communities safely & effectively. In Pennsylvania, emergency medical services are facing outdated reimbursement rates that threaten their ability to stay open.
But this year, it’s also a reminder of how shameful it is that partisan games and special interests continue to be cogs in a broken system that’s stalling our state budget and hurting the very people who protect us.
Today is National First Responders Day — a day to celebrate the incredible individuals who answer the call when we need help most.
A big shoutout to Wiggins Shredding for being our incredible shredding partner, and to the North Coventry Police Department for their assistance and support in helping ensure the event was held safely.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our shred event co-hosted with Rep. Friel and his team! I’m also grateful to everyone who donated to our food drive in support of Phoenixville Area Community Services.
Today! Stop by our shred event from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Coventry Mall where we are also collecting much-needed food donations for Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS).
Because of the ongoing federal government shutdown, PA has to push back the start of this year’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to Dec. 3rd.

Until Congress and the White House act to end the shutdown, thousands of households will be left waiting for help to heat their homes.

Until a full environmental remediation is completed and independently verified under Pennsylvania’s Act 2 Land Recycling Program, any disturbance of contaminated soils or groundwater could expose nearby residents, workers, and the veterans to preventable harm.
Earlier this week, I sent a formal letter to the East Vincent Township Board of Supervisors raising serious concerns about the proposed data center project on the former Pennhurst State School and Hospital site.
Now more than ever—with the federal shutdown and the SNAP funding freeze—organizations like PACS need our help to continue supporting those in need.
In addition to our shred event this Sunday, we will be collecting much-needed food donations for Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS), which provides food and resources to families in need throughout our community.
