I joined @senatorhaywood.com and my @pasenate.com colleagues to sound the alarm and announce a proposal diverting $62M in interest earned from the rainy day fund to support food banks and Meals on Wheels during this emergency - the literal least we can do.
If we can’t train more nurses, we can’t care for more patients.

Proud to share my bill with Sen. Rosemary Brown, SB 998, just passed unanimously in the Institutional Sustainability & Innovation Committee!

SB 998 creates a grant program for nursing schools to boost the nursing workforce pipeline.
Pennsylvanians deserve better than this.

It's past time to deliver state and federal budgets that make working families' lives safer and more affordable.
Our nurses deserve better. If we want to tackle PA's nursing shortage, we need to prioritize workplace safety and finally pass the Patient Safety Act.

As the Democratic Chair of the Senate Aging & Youth Committee, I was proud to participate in City and State PA's 2025 PA Aging Summit, where we explored real solutions to meet the needs of older adults and caregivers across the Commonwealth. Because every one of us deserves to age with dignity.
It's time to get serious. Senate Democrats stand ready to support a bipartisan budget that actually delivers for working Pennsylvanians.

The partisan, flat-funding budget bill Senate Republicans passed today does not get us any closer to a resolution.

We're all facing the careless and cruel cuts to health care thanks to Congressional Republicans.

These cuts will hurt nursing homes, rural hospitals, community health centers and families already struggling to make ends meet.

This week, I joined my @pasenate.com colleagues to send a letter urging Republican leadership to call the Senate back to session and vote on Senate Bill 160, a bipartisan budget bill passed in the House this month.

Let’s get back to work and deliver real solutions.

Everyday Senate Republicans extend this #PAbudget impasse, more working families, communities, schools and more will feel the very real consequences.

It is beyond time for compromise. We've sent a letter to Senate Republicans to bring us back into session and pass the House's bipartisan budget.
With 2 in 5 menstruators struggling to afford essential care items like pads and tampons, we know there is still a long way to go to secure menstrual equity for all.

On Period Action Day, we recommit to the fight for dignity for every Pennsylvanian.

To the families across PA navigating the grief from losing a pregnancy, this is for you. I am with you, and you are never alone. I will continue to share my story to destigmatize the grief and trauma that is all too often swept under the rug: pasenatorcappelletti.com/senator-capp...

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health — take it from a nurse.

I will always fight for policies that fund, support, and improve mental healthcare across PA.

Yesterday, the House passed a reasonable, compromise, bipartisan budget and sent it to the Senate for us to consider. While Senate Democrats were ready to dig in and do the work, Senate Republicans packed up and went home. That's unacceptable. We must finish a budget now.
We had the opportunity to pass a state budget yesterday, but Senate Republicans chose to go home instead.

Stop playing politics with the wellbeing of our communities.
The PA'ns I talk to don’t want promises or platitudes—they want the lights to stay on, they want their local services to be available, and they want the dignity of knowing that their tax dollars are being put to work for them.

No more games. Pass the budget.

The state budget is 100 days overdue and Republicans are still delaying.

Their inaction is hurting the 100,000 students who depend on financial aid grants from PHEAA. These students now have to take out new loans, burn through savings, or delay higher ed because Senate Rs are playing games.
Let's be honest. The PA budget impass isn’t gridlock, it's sabotage.

Senate Republicans think they are hurting Democrats by dragging out this process, but they're actually hurting working Pennsylvanians and the services they rely on.

Senate Republicans think they're hurting Democrats by dragging out the budget, but they're hurting everyday PA'ns.

People like Danielle, a speech therapist in my district who's had to reduce services and take a 25% pay cut to keep her practice afloat while early intervention funding is in limbo.
You can count on me to continue to stand on the side of science and affordable, accessible healthcare.
