📽️ 🎬 I should really consider watching ‘Her’ again. I wasn’t that impressed back then, but after seeing a video about it got me thinking.

Looking back, it probably hit a little too close to home. Especially with how some people use LLMs(or AI) today.

I should give it another shot with that in mind.

I MUST cut down my YouTube screen time if I want to thrive.

Switching to less crowded platforms helped a lot with my screen time. Not good news for the platform obviously, but definitely a huge win for me.

📚 I really hate when a book adds a footnote but then throws the actual reference all the way to the end.

I like mission/quest systems, but you really need to strike the right balance. Giving players another reason to play is one thing — making them feel like they’re chasing a carrot is another.

I still think about the mission generator I wrote for our unreleased game.
The code was simple — just like the game itself — but it covered every ground possible.
Sadly, the game never saw the light of day, so that little piece of code just sits there, waiting for its chance to shine.

I get it’s all about engagement, but man, do I hate the constant push for video content on every single platform. Every. Single. Platform!

📺 🎮 Lately I’ve been hooked on the "Psychonauts 2 Lost Levels" series over on @doublefine.com YouTube. The devs share some great behind-the-scenes insight, mostly around design stuff. If you’re into game dev, this is a must-watch.

Here is the first episode:

I’d love to jump on the Silksong hype train, but the truth is… I still haven’t played the first game yet. I really should.

from where the show left off,” but I don’t think the adaptation was ever a 1:1.

Still, I enjoyed it for what it was. Good until the end it had — but I get why people might not want to start something that will never be finished.

I’m not familiar with the source material, but as a standalone series I found it solid. The problem is: with the cancellation, it feels hard to recommend. It’s a big time investment for a story that likely won’t ever see its conclusion. Sure, someone might say “just pick up the books 🔽

📺 📽️ 📚 Before jumping into season 4 of Upload, I want to share some thoughts on another series — Wheel of Time.

I heard about the cancellation while I was halfway into season 3. The frustrating part is, I thought season 2 was when the show started finding its own voice and actually building on it.🔽

⚽ I get why players stick to the same goal celebration — branding, image, all that stuff.
But for me, the great ones lose their minds when they score instead of thinking about PR.

We’ve traded control of our lives for convenience, handing it to a handful of people. That balance needs to shift.

First, decentralize devices and software where we can.
Second, take them offline.
The future shouldn’t be “always online” — it should be “online when we want it.”

Years ago, I was against blocking or silencing people on my social media. Everyone should be free to share their opinions and I still believe that. What’s changed is the flood of manipulative accounts farming clicks and stirring rage. That's unbearable.

What I do now? I block them straight away.

I’ve been watching videos of Ultima Online free shards lately — mostly Outlands. I last played years ago, and seeing how far things have come feels unreal. One day, I’d love to jump back in and experience it for myself. I really miss fishing... 🎣

It’s also free on multiple platforms, including mobile, so why not give it a try?

As for me, I'm on to the next game on my list. Let's see what that will be.

Or maybe not. Either way, it’s something I’ll dig into when the time comes.

All in all, Realm Grinder is a solid example of the genre. I spent about 6 hours with it, which is plenty for me in this space, so yes—I’d recommend giving it a shot. 🔽

That’s one of the things I’ll consider when making a game of my own.

The other thing is I sometimes can’t really tell if my current setup is still making money or if it’s time to reset and get the multipliers. Maybe that’s on me, but I feel like there could be a clearer way to show it. 🔽

crammed into the UI. I get why it’s there, but honestly, I just stop reading after a while. In incremental/idle games, I reach a point where I’m basically clicking whatever the latest option is without bothering to read the fine print. So all that writing starts to feel kind of pointless. 🔽
