Leafy Will-O’-The-Wisp #Glow #BlueSkyArtShow #collage

I drew this group of four fall leaves (from my yard) in pencil and then went over that with a black pen. They were an example for the Inktober drawing of the day at school. Two of them seem to have faces. Behind them, the Will-O’-The-Wisp mandala, glows with its spooky light made up of 4 circles of increasing size (gold pale yellow, darker yellow, and yellow orange).

A mother and daughter pose happily in their 1966 dining room (Better Homes and Gardens) They’re wearing crocheted dresses with crazy daisy motifs around the collars and down the front. They stand in front of a harvest gold sideboard with a couple of pumpkins added. A large abstract painting (green, orange, yellow, black) hangs on the wall. A white round lantern light shade hangs from the ceiling on the right. The mother’s speech bubble says, “We match our background!”. The little girls replies, “Yes, but isn’t my dress is too short.” I agree - it’s really short.

Apple Mandala #collage #artjournal #apple

This collage is a mandala with 5 layers. At the center is a ripe pink and yellow apple with a leaf still attached to it’s stem. Under it are 3 circular layers showing 1. Green and silver-ish foliage 2. Pink and green rhubarb stalks 3. Fall landscape. Last are 6 small apples arranged around the largest circle. 3 of the apples are partially peeled - with the curling peel still attached.

Leaf Peeping with Winston #Relax #BlueSkyArtShow #Collage

The leaves have turned, and Winston Churchill rides in the open back of his old fashioned car (black and white) that’s driven by his chauffeur. A pumpkin sits on the running board. They drive through a fall landscape with golden fall leaves, more pumpkins, and orange and yellow mums. What a relaxing activity!

An American Classic #collage

I used a vintage Reynolds’s Wrap advertisement as the background for this collage. A happy housewife in her kitchen, proudly holds a mandala. Sweet Dreams Perspective #collage

In this collage (from my art journal archives 2017) three cheerful (red, green, and orange) small dinosaurs walk past the huge, fallen head of a Greek statue. I drew on the statue’s head to show the details of the woman’s hair, with brown cross-hatching. The background is a fall landscape with a stream in front - where the dinosaurs walk.

#Collage - a portal to other worlds.
