SDPD Watch Commander's Log Page 1 of 1 Incident: 13855 BegDateTime: 12/10/25 17:35 EndDateTime: Beat: 233 Watch Commander: Woodell Location: 12900 Salmon River Road Neighborhood: Rancho Penasquitos Type: Fatal Traffic Accident Synopsis: A 60 year old male (P2) was riding his bicycle, on the right side of the lane, northbound on 12900 Salmon River Road. A 51 year old female (P1) was driving a 2019 Toyota Camry vehicle (V1) northbound on 12900 Salmon River Road. P1 did not see P2 and V1 impacted the rear tire of the bicycle. P2 was pronounced deceased on scene. P1 was not injured. Alcohol was not a factor. Traffic Division officers investigated the accident. Perales Location: Genesee Avenue and Mount Alifan Drive Neighborhood: Clairemont Mesa West Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 70-year-old female was walking across Genesee Avenue from east to west on Mount Alifan Drive. A 59- year-old female driving an unknown model white Mercedes Benz was making a left turn and struck the 70- year-old female. The 70-year-old female sustained a hip fracture and was transported to local area hospital. Fault is yet to be determined in this collision. San Diego Police Department Traffic Division will be handling the investigation. 35-year-old man was walking north on Pacific Highway, where there is no sidewalk. Driver saw him and swerved to the right, but still struck the man as well as a parked Prius. Victim was pronounced dead in the hospital. #VisionZero

O'Brien Location: 4850 Pacific Highway Neighborhood: Morena Type: Fatal Collision Synopsis: A 35-year old male pedestrian was walking in the northbound lane of 4850 Pacific Highway. A 30-year old female was driving a 2024 Honda Civic northbound in the northbound lane of 4850 Pacific Highway. The driver saw the pedestrian in the roadway and swerved to the right, attempting to avoid a collision. The vehicle collided with the pedestrian as well as a Toyota Prius parked on the east curbline of Pacific Highway. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded and is investigating the collision. D.U.I. was determined to not be a factor in this collision. Perales Location: 3550 India Street Neighborhood: Hillcrest Type: Fatal Hit and Run Synopsis: An unknown suspect was driving an unknown silver or gray sedan northbound on the 3500 block of India Street, approaching the green light at Vine Street. An approximately 60-year-old male crossed northbound mid-block on India Street and entered the path of the unknown suspect and was struck. The unknown suspect fled the scene. The 60-year-old male was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The suspect vehicle and driver remain outstanding. Driver in an SUV exited the freeway onto San Ysidro Boulevard and struck an 83-year-old man attempting to cross the street. Victim suffered life-threatening injuries including a brain bleed and fractured pelvis. #VisionZero

Perales Location: 200 East San Ysidro Boulevard Neighborhood: San Ysidro Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 71-year-old male was driving a 2011 Jeep Liberty westbound on 200 East San Ysidro Boulevard after exiting the freeway. An 83-year-old male crossed mid-block to the south, entering the path of the 71-year-old male and was struck. The 83-year-old male sustained a pelvic fracture, a brain bleed, and was transported to a local hospital. The 83-year-old male’s injuries are considered life-threatening. Alcohol was not a factor in this collision. San Diego Police Department Traffic Division will be handling the investigation.

O'Brien Location: 1900 Garnet Ave. Neighborhood: Pacific Beach Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 35-year old male was walking southbound on the east crosswalk of 1900 Garnet Ave against the red don't walk signal. A 21 year old male was riding a Suzuki 1500 motorcycle eastbound on 1900 Garnet Ave. The motorcycle collided with the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The pedestrian sustained a lacerated liver, fractured femur, as well as several other fractures. The motorcyclist sustained multiple abrasions. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded and is handling the collision investigation. D.U.I. is not suspected. Leisz Location: Rosecrans Street/Womble Road Neighborhood: Midway District Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 39 year old female drove her 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 43 SUV westbound on Womble Street at Rosecrans Street (a T-intersection). Instead of turning right or left, she continued straight and collided into a concrete wall. The female driver suffered internal injuries requiring surgery. A passenger in the vehicle, a 36 year old female, suffered a fractured pelvis and a compound fracture to her right ankle. Driving under the influence of alcohol is suspected. An SUV driver struck a 38-year-old woman who was attempting to cross Mission Gorge Road in San Carlos. While she lay on the pavement, a driver in a Tesla ran her over. She died on the scene. #VisionZero

O'Brien Location: 7500 Mission Gorge Rd Neighborhood: San Carlos Type: Fatal Collision Synopsis: A 47-year old male was driving a 2021 Honda CRV, southbound in the number two lane of 7500 Mission Gorge Rd. A 38-year old female pedestrian was walking westbound mid-block on 7500 Mission Gorge Rd. The driver of the CRV did not see the pedestrian until the last minute and ultimately collided with her. The pedestrian came to rest in the number two southbound lane of 7500 Mission Gorge Rd. A short time later, a 66-year old male driving a 2022 Tesla Model Y drove over the pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded to the scene and is investigating the collision. An 89-year-old woman made a left turn from Imperial Avenue into the path of an oncoming heavy-duty SUV. The crash left the woman with two brain bleeds, a spinal fracture and a fracture to her eye socket. #VisionZero

Man on an e-scooter was riding through the alleys of Mission Beach, turned right onto a pedestrian path and the scooter handlebars collapsed. He fell and suffered an open fracture to his left ankle. #VisionZero

O'Brien Location: Dayton St/El Cajon Blvd Neighborhood: El Cerrito Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 35- year old male was driving a Tesla Model Y eastbound on El Cajon Blvd, approaching the intersection with Dayton St. A 24-year old female was driving a Honda Civic westbound on El Cajon Blvd, approaching the intersection with Dayton St. The Tesla had a green light, but made a left turn in front of the Honda violating its right of way. The Tesla and Honda collided in the intersection. The driver of the Honda was transported by ambulance to a local hospital , and was treated for a fractured left femur and a lacerated liver. S.D.P.D. Perales Location: 1200 Pershing Drive Neighborhood: Balboa Park Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 53-year-old male was riding his e-scooter southbound 1200 Pershing Drive in the bike lane. For unknown reasons, the male made a movement to the right and exited the roadway. The male rode into dirt, where he lost control of his scooter and impacted the ground. The male sustained a brain bleed, cheek fracture, fractured ribs, a fractured clavicle, and a scapular fracture. The male was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Perales Location: 2250 Main Street Neighborhood: Egger Highlands Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: An 86-year-old male was riding his bicycle northbound on Alamitos Avenue at Main Street. The 86-year-old male crossed the eastbound lanes and entered the westbound lanes of Main Street. As the 86-year-old male reached the westbound number two lane, he was struck by a 39-year-old male driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on 2250 Main Street. The 86-year-old male sustained a fractured scapula, fractured ankle, fractured foot, and a blood clot around the brain. A 50-year old male was operating the MTS trolley on the westbound trolley lane. The trolley lanes were separated from the travel lanes by flexible delineators. The bicyclist rode southwest into the trolley lane in front of the trolley. The trolley collided with the bicyclist. The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. It was determined the bicyclist sustained life threatening head injuries, and is not expected to survive. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded to the scene and is handling the collision investigation. Driver in a pickup truck struck a 70-year-old man who was biking on Sports Arena Boulevard in the Midway District. Victim suffered fractures to his ribs and leg and a collapsed lung. He’s expected to survive. #VisionZero

Perales Location: 4100 Sports Arena Boulevard Neighborhood: Midway Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 70-year-old male was riding a bicycle northbound in the marked bicycle lane on the 4100 block of Sports Arena Boulevard. A 29-year-old male was driving a 1992 Mazda pickup northbound in the adjacent traffic lane. The 70-year-old male turned left from the bicycle lane into the path of the 29-year-old male. The 70- year-old male was ejected from the bicycle, sustained fractured ribs, a tibia fracture, a fibula fracture, a collapsed lung, and was transported to a local hospital. The injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. Alcohol was not a factor in this collision. San Diego Police Department Traffic Division will be handling the investigation.
