"Your honour, the defendant says the reason he was going at 130mph when he drove through that orphanage was because his navigation app told him he 'gotta go fast', and that, as such, he cannot be held liable for those numerous lost souls"

As someone who was obsessed with Mortal Kombat during the 16-bit era, Dan Forden made a large contribution to the soundtrack of my childhood, and that goes far beyond the single high-pitched word he's known for. I hope he has a long and peaceful retirement.

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon has paid tribute to Dan Forden, the sound director who worked on the entire series and has retired after 37 years.

Follow Chris – he's a lovely, booksmart chap who will brighten up your timeline – or so help me, I can't accurately find the words to describe how peeved* I'll get.

*I have previous history of getting pretty peeved, I don't mind telling you that for free

I'm fifteen followers off a thousand at the moment. At the speed BlueSky moves at times, I can probably look forward to hitting that in 2027.

The Nintendo Museum has started selling an official book.

It costs ¥1,650, which is about £8.20. I really want one. I was expecting some sort of eBay markup so was prepared to pay £30-40 for it.

This can fuck CLEAN off.

Oh good, it's been funded. Watch your arse, GTA 6

I'll put you down as a 'maybe' then

I ticked off a major bucket list item recently when I interviewed a personal hero, NES and Game Boy composer Hip Tanaka. Warning: this gets extremely nerdy in the best way.

Fair play to the guy. Hope this starts a trend - there are a lot of streamers with huge, impressionable audiences and using that clout to encourage them to save or spend their money (assuming the streamer has enough already) is a great thing.

For me the issue here isn't that someone's tried to rip off Animal Crossing yet again, it's that these games keep happily wandering onto console digital stores when any content moderator with the slightest shred of gaming knowledge should be able to say "wait a minute"

I don't know if the mouse necessarily sold badly, I'm just assuming that Mario & Wario sold badly because the potential customer base was only players who had the mouse, and obviously not all of them will have bought it. So it would have been a fraction of a fraction
