We’ll be at the Fort William Mountain Film Festival later today at 5 pm. Come say hi, if you’re attending!

The Ca na Catanach is a remarkable survivor from an age when the only land routes in the north were the old ‘ways’ created by the passage of travellers on foot or horseback.

Our former historic sign has been missing for several years, but we would like to replace it, as this is an important junction partway along the Scottish Hill Tracks route 108, and it also points along the Midmuir Drove Road.

This week’s #HillTrackTuesday comes from Dumfries and Galloway and is #ScottishHillTrack route 79: Clatteringshaws to Dalmellington.

#ScottishHillTrack route 221 from Glenbuchat (Strathdon) to Cabrach is between the upper reaches of the Rivers Don and Deveron. It crosses high, featureless ground where paths and tracks are barely discernible in places, so good navigational skills are required in poor conditions.

A reminder that if you have a question about rights of way and/or statutory access rights, you may find the answer on our Ken FAQ, which looks to answer some of the most frequently asked questions.

Our first #HilltrackTuesday of the year comes from #ScottishHillTrack 139, Bonawe (Loch Etive) to Glen Etive.

This 22km route goes along the west shore of Loch Etive for most of its length, with excellent views across the loch to Ben Cruachan and Ben Starav (pictured here).
