If Dems win the Supreme Court races in Pennsylvania in 9 days, it’s extremely likely the GOP can’t get a majority on that court until 2029.

The GOP really wants to have this majority during the 2028 presidential race.

Can’t put the stakes any more clearly than that. boltsmag.org/pennsylvania...
Inside the Clunky Elections to Control Pennsylvania's Supreme Court - Bolts
The GOP is making an expensive push to end Democrats’ majority on a court at the center of election lawsuits, sparking a fledging campaign season with little precedent or template.

This video from Portland is a metaphor for what is going on in America. ICE trying so hard to get Americans to cross a line and if they don't, dragging them across the line and violently attacking.
It's a small thing - but every extra minute they spend on one detention is one less minute they get to spend on another detention. In many areas Ice and DHS have moved to trying to be much more stealthy, I'm imagining in part cause it's hard to hit your numbers when every detention draws a crowd.
Once again showing his economic acumen and proving that his tariff moves are policy based driven by his clearly stated goals to re-shore...

petulant outrage?

And hate Trump atm. Like... "objectively reality aside, his slim plurality before this happened show why it had to happen!"
At some point some of us might start to conclude that a segment of opinion writers in our media ecosystem are not, actually, honest or consistent in their opinions, but just might be, shockingly, partisan hacks.
Moving "sharply left" at the moment, I'm afraid, is code for "still trying to protect racial minorities', immigrants', LGBTQ+, disabled, women's and other marginalized folks' rights"

That seems to be the most potent catch-all of what "too left" means to folks today.

ICE detains mother dropping off child at elementary school—refuses to even look at her U.S. legal papers.

"What documents?" agent sarcastically replies—holding up the folder.

"The ones in your hands!" witnesses yell back.

Next door neighbor has been overrun by RW trolls for a long while now. Lots of non-locals on there, so take it with a grain of salt. That said, there are certainly a few MAGA areas of LA county. It's a big old county.
100%. Meant everything I wrote as a compliment. From all I've every seen Murphy rarely grandstands or chicken-littles - just gives clear, accurate, forthright arguments and justifications and has a clear, clean grasp of logic. I'm a big fan but also a bit sad he doesn't garner more attention
In fact, this should motivate everyone with envelope sitting on kitchen table to drop it at the drop box today. Dropped mine last week, got confirmation it had arrived within days. Prop 50 is already near 20% return rate. Estimated total turnout is ~50%. Big push and we could get to half soon.
A complete aside, but Murphy flies too far under the radar in my estimation. He is really sharp and focused and gets the issues very clearly nearly every time.

Just a solid, refreshingly bland, legislator.
Guess this means we won the great fentanyl war with Canada, eh?
It's also incredibly silly (and part of our dumb horse-race media culture) to try to make sweeping conclusions to such a limited polling response. What to glean about Mamdani from this poll? "Lots of folks in sample group aren't very aware of him and it's probably a stretch to conclude much atm"
This is really bad, but in CA at least, we can try to render this less effective by getting everyone we know to return ballots via ballot drop box (or mail) ASAP.

Obviously there's huge issues for the midterms and this is unequivocally bad, but we can, at least in the short-term, blunt the effect.

Every headline, social post and story about this direct attack on Democrats in Democratic districts in Democratic states needs to be crystal clear that this is an unwarranted, unprecedented attack on voting by Donald Trump and his weaponized DOJ.
Additionally, if these companies can afford this, they can afford *at least* that amount in increased taxes to be used for the common good according to the process enshrined by the founders.

It's so blatantly corrupt, and so many Americans are so used to blatant corruption they are 100% unfazed.
It's always been "capitalism, free markets and competition for thee, subsidies and favorable legal landscape for me" - but bribing is so much more straightforward, direct and efficient,
The concern is palpable.
100%. And a significant number don't mind a pay-to-play/back-scratching government culture. They figure they can thrive in that scenario and all expect to the *winning* oligarch.
