Right. All you need to stop drug boats is a destroyer with a helicopter.
Who gave the money? Putin?
What favours do they get in return??

This is Brilliant! Please repost.
Meanwhile in USA they Re finally admitting that they want a USN sub base in Perth as part of AUKUS.
This was the agenda from day one.
There has never been a credible plan to actually get subs for the RAN.
Why do we sell ourselves out so cheaply?

‘Here for the long term’: US seeks to entrench presence in Australia under AUKUS
Australian officials are preparing for the US to seek to lock in a long-term Australian presence for its nuclear-powered submarines through a review into AUKUS.

So much for the narrowing. 66/34 to Labor in SA.
🚨 NEW: Labor leads in South Australia with a 66% two-party-preferred vote ahead of the March state election, according to the latest DemosAU/Ace Strategies poll

One Nation are now only 5% behind the Liberals in upper house polling, while Peter Malinauskas continues to lead as preferred premier
For outside SA readers this is not an error. It accurately reflects the state of the SA Liberals. They have been taken over by a Christian evangelist faction similar to Morrison’s Hillsong faction.
Perhaps we have found a solution for AUKUS.
We have until 2032 to make a few more of these for the RAN.

The ADF is a bit guilty of confusion here too.
They are trying to badge the shipyard works as an AUKUS project in the $12 billion total.
But most of the Perth shipyard work is to build the Mogamis and LCHs, not SSNs.
The SSN maintenance works will be some of that Total.
Unless they retain those workers, training more won’t fix it.
The shipyards aren’t retaining them because the pay is too low.
USA is NOT doing everything it can to speed up SSN construction.
As long as they treat submarine construction as a low paid job, yet needing highly skilled workers, this won’t get fixed.
Australia beware. #AUKUS #auspol

Things didn’t go well after Independence Day either. 😱
Thanks. I find the State opposition bizarre.
I worked on planning Gold Coast LRT when I was an engineer responsible for QTMR planning for the Gold Coast region.
QTMR supported LRT because it was the least impacting option that had the capacity.
Nothing they replace it with will be cheaper or better.
The development approvals should in themslves bring more revenue to GCC Council.
So why can’t they afford the light rail that they could afford ten years ago. where has the revenue gone?
If the creeps succeed they will still be unhappy with the world.
There will be nobody poor left to clean their homes.
(Australia here)
I remember that “Bill of Rights” thing you guys used to have.
They were good times.
