For any new folk: I'm a freelance journalist for the nationals, mainly the Guardian, BBC (where I also produce radio), and the i paper. I cover different sectors, but my main lines of focus are sustainability, money, tech and travel. Generally I like to focus on solutions-based journalism.
Another season, another opportunity to pitch my home.

My light-filled flat in the old town of Margate is once again available for short-term breaks from later in September through to January (when it’s likely to be available for several months). DM for more info.
I've already received emails from fellow female clients who are feeling as equally horrified.
As a former client of Torben's for over a decade, I felt compelled to share how betrayed I was feeling after it emerged he was a prolific voyeur. Thanks to @thetimes.com for the giving me the platform to talk about this.

Did the voyeur osteopath Torben Hersborg secretly film me too?

As we know, use of AI is rocketing. But it's also known to hallucinate - to generate content that is irrelevant, made-up, or inconsistent. And many companies are bringing in professionals to fix the mistakes made by AI. I looked into this for the BBC:

'I'm being paid to fix issues caused by AI'
Businesses that rush to use AI to write content or computer code, often have to pay humans to fix it.

Are there people at your organisation that would benefit from PR training? I'm running half-day How to Secure Media Coverage workshops in Brighton, Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Sheffield, and on Zoom. More details here:

@amps-uk.bsky.socialHi - what['s the best email for press enquiries?
It's a minute away from the beach, is seconds away from coffee shops, restaurants, a holistic wellness space, art galleries, and a tattoo parlour, and features a freestanding bathtub and balcony. It's available this weekend. DM for more details.
Margate getaway anyone? A reminder that my spacious light-filled home in the old town is available for short-term breaks. I rent out the apartment as a one-bedroom flat but there's a super comfy sofa and airbed available too....
Sadly the adventure will end this summer, but I'll be back in the UK and running my popular Lessons from a Journalist: How to Secure Media Coverage workshop in London in August, and in Brighton, Sheffield, and online in September...

Also, if you've visited Mexico City before, what are your favourite things to do here? I've enjoyed taking advantage of the incredible free three-hour bike rental on Sundays and strolling around leafy Condesa.

Hola amigas/amigos. I'm now based in Mexico City for six weeks and am open to sustainability/environmental, tech, travel, and/or solutions-based stories happening in the city (and up to three hours away). I'm also open to meeting any interesting people working in those sectors.
"Why would I bother to read something someone couldn't be bothered to write?"

From the environmental impact to hindering our ability to problem solve, I spoke to people who refuse to use AI.

The people refusing to use AI
Worried about the environment and the loss of skills, some people are resisting the rise of AI.

Happy to see my article on Bacalar make the homepage of The London Standard. I wanted to write a piece that highlighted the ecological issues at stake but also the sustainability efforts from parts of the community & travel industry to preserve the lake.

Is it time to visit Bacalar now before it becomes the next Tulum?
From beach clubs and blue lakes to tacos and sailboats, here’s how to experience Bacalar - the chill alternative to Tulum

Trip highlight: Low-season Mazunte. A simple room with a hammock and swoon-worthy views. Super feliz.
…art galleries, and a tattoo parlour (when in Margate and all).

What's rather heartwarming is that I have two sets of returning guests this week.

DM me for more details.
I rent out the apartment as a one-bedroom flat but there's a super comfy sofa and airbed available too.

A minute away from the beach, the flat features a freestanding bathtub and balcony, and is seconds away from coffee shops, restaurants, a holistic wellness space…
If anyone is craving a getaway to Margate (and an ethical one at that) or shaking things up and working from a cool seaside town, my light-filled home in the old town is available for short-term breaks from next week. More below…
A lesson to check your entry and exit stamps: yesterday at the Guatemalan border I was taken into the immigration office after they noticed there was no entry stamp on my passport (I entered legally!). Cue negotiating a cash request of the equivalent of £80 down to £35 (all the money I had on me).
A reminder for those craving a seaside break. 🌊
Who fancies a break in Margate? Or shaking things up and working from a cool seaside town?

My light-filled home in the old town is once again available for short-term breaks from the start of April. I rent out the apartment as a one-bedroom flat but there's a sofa and airbed available too.
