          Ofcom to Authorise Satellite Connectivity for Standard Smartphones
            On September 9 2025 Ofcom confirmed that it will move ahead with plans to make the UK the first country in Europe to enable standard smartphones to connect to satellites using mobile spectrum bands.

            Two Possible #SSTV Activity Periods From the #ISS are being Scheduled
            The ARISS team plans two short SSTV activiations in October 2025, each running from Friday to Monday. Participants who receive and submit at least one SSTV image to the gallery can earn electronic award diplomas.

      The installation of HamTV is on the ISS work schedule for next week.  Successful completion could mean test transmissions going out beginning on Tuesday.

      So the good thing about this #SSTV activity period from the #ISS is that it is at a civilised time, the bad thing is that there's a lot more local noise than in the small hours of the morning
