It's midnight in America.
The movie Vice, a satire of Dick Cheney, has a wonderful section that explains the Unitary Executive Theory--unlimited presidential power through Article II. It was prescient and sharp. It needs to go viral across social media.

Josh Brolin says Trump "takes the weakness of the general population and fills it. And that’s why I think a lot of people feel that they have a mascot in him. I think it’s much less about Trump than it is about the general population and their need for validation.” He nails phony populism.

When we are going to learn to spread The Big Truth as effectively as they do The Big Lie?

Undocumented folks get no health care. But the right says they do, and bam, everyone believes it. Why can't we shout as loud?

According to one news archive scan by AI, Trump is seven times more likely to call a Black woman "low IQ" than a white man. He has called Robert DeNiro low IQ, and a few sorted Caucasians, but nearly every notable Black woman he has branded as low IQ. Next most would be White women.

I'm confused. Solving this war was easy! Stopping inflation was easy! Other nations were going to eat the tariffs--easy! I'm beginning to think running the world is more complex than Trump realized.

Can you imagine thinking a book about Biden's age would be the best use of anyone's energy in a crisis of authoritarianism? This, "her emails"--why do we do this?

This Abrego Garcia story is some Midnight Express shit. If you read the book or saw the movie back in the day, you know. Same, only now the US is part of the evil.

Do NOT let this get news-cycled out of our attention span.
Democratic Sens. Adam Schiff of California and Ruben Gallego of Arizona are demanding that the U.S. Office of Government Ethics launch an investigation into who knew what, and when did they know it — regarding the events leading to the Trump tariff insider trading scandal

It is urgent that…
