There was real division in the Western left between libertarians and Marxist-Leninists going all the way back to Kronstadt, or even further if you want to go back to the first international. The new left that arose in the West in the 60's and 70's abandoned class struggle in favor of reformism.

As a former DoD public affairs official for 20 years, this has me disgusted, scared, and angry. Politicizing the military is wrong, wrong, wrong.

This goes against EVERYTHING we are taught at Defense Information School and I am seriously concerned about the state of our military.
