This is not 'diplomacy' this is appeasing a powerful dangerous person. Next time you hear someone say 'i wouldn't stay in an abusive relationship' point out the dynamic of power, appeasement & subjugation being broadcast as diplomacy. Sometimes it's about least worst options. Nothing more.
