Make no mistake — while we hope this is a temporary setback to abortion access in Missouri, anti-abortion politicians are celebrating this ruling as a win in their larger coordinated effort to overturn the will of the voters and strip us of our ability to plan our lives, our families, & our futures.
As of 5/27, MO’s abortion ban is back in place, so Missourians *once again* have to cross state lines for care.

@moabortionfund.bsky.social makes sure cost isn’t a barrier for any Missourian who needs an abortion!

Plz donate $10, $20, $50 — whatever’s right for you :)

As Missouri courts go back & forth with our abortion bans, people still need abortions & MOAF continues to help.

A right to abortion is not enough — access is key, & @moabortionfund.bsky.social helps make access a reality.

Today the MO Supreme Court made a decision that effectively reinstates an abortion ban in Missouri.

Missouri patients can still access abortion in nearby states, including Illinois and Kansas. Call us at 1-800-230-PLAN or search abortionfinder.org to find the abortion care provider nearest to you.
It gets worse: then these anti-abortion, anti-democracy, & anti-worker #MoLeg Republicans voted to halt the increases to the minimum wage & *taking away* paid sick time that Missourians voted for when we passed Prop A.
Complete & utter disregard for Missourians. MoLeg Republicans shut down debate to shove through another abortion ban that will be on the ballot, with shady AF language that *doesn’t even mention it’s an abortion ban* because they know Missourians just voted to REPEAL the abortion ban in November.

Let's be very clear: The Trump administration is not "defending" mifepristone against a legal challenge. They're pulling a calculated move that will allow them to restrict or ban abortion medication without pushback

Trump will defend Biden’s abortion pill rules in Texas case
The filing over the regulation of mifepristone indicates an emerging pattern: An effort to preserve executive power.

Jeffrey Goldberg thinking he was being pranked and then realizing he was actually just in the war plans group chat is such a good microcosm of how it feels to be alive right now, everything seems fake until you realize it’s actually real and incredibly stupid

Really great thread here about the definition of abortion under state bans, how midwives treat with miscarriages, and what Texas stands to gain with this arrest
Maybe the big story isn’t “Texas midwife charged with alleged illegal abortions” but “Texas attacks and closes three clinics providing prenatal care for low income Spanish speakers.”

Recall sitting in the room through this man’s confirmation hearing and hearing an awful lot about raising military standards, standards that had been brought down by DEI.

There are a bunch of articles like this, which argue that Trump is going after institutions because of their failures.
The reality is Trump is going after institutions - bureaucracy, military, judges, lawyers, media - because he is an authoritarian who wants control.

Trump’s Battles With Colleges Could Change American Culture for a Generation
Many in higher education worry Trump’s efforts to bend academia to his will could end American leadership in research and science. Universities are not finding many allies to defend them.

"Let's not take the soul-sucking path of sacrificing the most persecuted for that which we deem to be most popular. I know that there are transgender children right now looking out at this world and wondering if anyone is going to stand up for them and for their simple right to exist. Well, I am."
Best Christmas present: August got me an ornament with a photo of the first time we met!

Yesterday marked 9 years @ PP in MO. It’s still tough, it’s still worth it, I still feel grateful, & I still have some optimism for the future.

It’s a good time to take a step back & recognize that my younger self is marveling at the opportunities I have to do work that means so much to me.
