forms can be helpful prompts to gather info quickly but can become problematic if they prevent the assessor being able to see and hear the person in front of them. practitioners judgement should over ride tick box scores which are a guide. @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social

This week's heat dome is a harbinger

A young child today will be forced to endure 6 times as many extreme heatwaves as their 50-something parents, aunts, uncles, or grandparents will over their lifetimes.

Solidarity and safe travels to all participating in the Global March to Gaza, including at least 50 people from Ireland. Apartheid Israel must lift the siege of Gaza immediately and end its genocide, apartheid and occupation of Palestinians. Go well all.

He’s been on the ground in Gaza before — and his testimony is vital in the face of this genocide.

If only we could see health & healthcare as an interconnected system.

So, investing 'upstream' & in community infrastructure creates health & healthier lives.

It's not 'anti hospitals' to have more resourced communities. We need to be willing to see the big picture & not just fight for our 'bit'.

Because there is little public understanding of how complex systems operate, collapse tends to take almost everyone by surprise. Complex systems (such as economies and human societies) have characteristics that make them either resilient or fragile

How is the NHS App doing?
- about 80% of adults are registered with 18% monthly users

What are people using it for?
- mostly viewing GP records & that use is rapidly increasing
- next highest (but much lower usage) is for repeat prescriptions & secondary care appointments
