The stupidest and most dangerous thing of all is the idea that it’s okay to tolerate any people in a society be unhealthy. As if the poor health of one person doesn’t affect the health, wellbeing, and finances others individually and in the larger society.

I wish I could offer some moral support. There is a philosophy originated by nurses called Ethics of Care which posits that the individualized nature of caring for a vulnerable other creates a unique kind of morality. I never got there myself, but I believe it. I’m not worse because of it. Peace

I went through 1 1/2 years of this. My siblings didn’t even show up unless asked, and then with foot-dragging. The best help was from a reliable woman I hired. I couldn’t afford it, but it gave me a break of 3 to 4 hours a day. I did this while completing a PhD. Difficult days. I’m sorry.
