Aww short but sweet! I love these two being idiots in love. This is for Gabs, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you enjoyed your request.

I'll have more stuff coming in the next few days, so make sure to follow. We're only about 100 away from 19k on Twitter??? What should we do to celebrate?!
"Don't get any funny ideas." Despite his grumble, Kacchan leans down, kissing his temple.

Izuku simmers in the affection, looking up at Kacchan. "Well, I love it. Almost as much as I love you."

"Sap."

Kacchan's kiss feels like a new pinky promise; to love Izuku.

Forever.
Laughing, he turns his gaze to the pretty ring sitting on his finger. "How'd Mei get the size perfect?"

"Tch" Kacchan's pinky curls on his. "I've been wrapped around that finger my whole life. Course I know its size."

"Kacchan's so romantic," Izuku teases, smiling at his scoff.
Izuku watches the royal member dance with Kacchan's rowdy bunch in the mead hall, Kirishima and Hanta tossing out flirty comments and offers between mugs of ale.

Smiling, he leans his head on Kacchan's shoulder. "Maybe he'll still find a betrothed after all."

"Ugh, spare me."
Their first kiss is to the cheers of their entire village, who later tell Izuku they've ALL waited far too long for their union.

Prince Shoto doesn't hold Izuku's rejection against him, and (to Kacchan's chagrin) stays the night to celebrate the happy couple's new engagement.
Kacchan slowly drops to his knee, but Izuku doesn't let him go, bending down to stay the same level.

"Keep letting me be your problem, Deku," Kacchan says, noses bumping together. "Scold me for the rest of our lives."

"You're awful." Izuku laughs as he nods. "Of course I will."
"You could have died!" He wraps his hands around Kacchan's, shaking his head even as the hunter bends down and presses their foreheads together.

"You were the one who said I never make things simple. Guess that goes with asking for your forever, too."

"Kacchan," is all he says.
"Mei?" He doesn't care about wetting Kacchan's hands as he sobs. "You got her to make this? But her prices-"

"I did some favors." Kacchan's grin is almost... nervous? "Got a lot of weird things she needed in some dangerous places."

Izuku's eyes widen. All those reckless quests-
"Course I did." The hands that cup his face aren't soft and delicate like Prince Shoto's. They're callous, scarred, full of hard work and passion.

Izuku lets him lead his head up, staring into the pretty gaze. "Had to go to the crazy girl's shop in the other village to get it."
Slowly leaning back, Izuku stays quiet in his confusion before Kacchan takes the ring, lifting Izuku's pinky before sliding the tip through the medal.

Sure enough, it fits like a glove over the finger they used to make their vow.

"Oh, God." The tears return. "You remembered?"
Slowly, Izuku pulls out the mysterious object. Pressing his forehead to Kacchan's chest, he looks down to the round piece of metal sitting in his palm.

It's too small for his ring finger.

"Cause it's not for that one, Freckles," Kacchan says, like he's reading Izuku's mind.
Warm arms wrap around him, Izuku's face pressed into the fur-lined coat. The hug cuts the conversation off, silence echoing in the crisp air.

"Left pocket," Kacchan mutters by his ear. Izuku sniffles before moving his hand into the mentioned spot.

He finds something... small?
"Deku," Kacchan tries again.

"I never hoped for gifts or a fancy castle. Offer me a rock for my hand! But if you don't WANT me, then I might as well marry the prince." Izuku's increased blinking exposes his growing tears "Because I'll never love someone else, you awful man-"
"Oi-" But he won't listen until he pours it all out. If he's going to leave everything between them, it has to be after Kacchan knows what he's giving up.

"How much more of me do you want? You already have my mind, body, and heart. I'd give you my soul if you asked for it."
"Because I made a promise to you, you big idiot!" Izuku smacks Kacchan's chest, right over his heart, as he crowds closer. "I've given you my time to help train your sword. My magic for your horrid wounds. My stupid sleepless nights when you were off on your reckless missions."
But just because he's in love with this hot-headed hunter, it doesn't mean Kacchan's perfect. "Well, if I'm such a PROBLEM, then why don't you run off with the perfect prince to his fancy castle? I'm sure he'll shower you with lavish gifts and do all the magic you want him to."
"Hah?!"

Kacchan's in his face without a care about their proximity. It doesn't matter that they're in front of their friends, the village, or even Prince Shoto. For the two of them, it's only the other that matters.

Just his Kacchan, the one who holds his dumb heart.
"I'm..." Izuku hesitates. It's enough to make Kacchan's orange magic pop out from his body.

"Why the hell are you stumbling over that?! It's a simple answer."

Kacchan's words boil Izuku's blood, spinning to face him. "You've never made anything simple between us! Not once!"
"So I should-"

"I didn't SAY that!"

"You didn't say NOT that, either."

"Because I shouldn't have to! It's obviously a stupid answer!"

"Oh, I'm sorry," Prince Shoto chimes in, reminding Izuku they aren't alone. "My apologies. I should have asked. Are you already engaged?"
"Isn't Prince Charming not even knowing your name good enough?" Then, Kacchan winces, the fire from before deflating his body. "But he'd probably give you a shit ton of amazing courting gifts. Take care of your mom, make you... stuffed to the gills with everything you want."
"Well?" His question pulls both men from their staring contest. Though the Prince is in front of him, his eyes are on Kacchan, fingers curling into his palm.

"Well WHAT?" Kacchan snaps back, Izuku huffing.

"Should I do this?" He steps closer. "Or is there a reason to say no?"
He peeks up at Kacchan, who is staring Prince Shoto down in a way that's making the village whisper. It's an offense that could get Kacchan in serious danger if Izuku doesn't stop him.

But there's something about Kacchan standing up for him that makes his heart swell with...
"I'll learn it," Prince Shoto says.

People say he is kind, caring, and wouldn't hurt Izuku. He's handsome. If Izuku was anyone else in the world, maybe he could fall in love with him.

And yet.

Izuku looks at his pinky, remembers the vow he made to Kacchan all those years ago.
"That's bullshit," Kacchan snaps out, shoulders tense. "Deku is more than his magic. He doesn't need a stuck-up prince to try and wave him around like a damn prize. He's meant to be here, working with these extras. People who give a damn about him. You don't even know his name."
