I'm a little starving child from Urbilum and this is the last thing I'll ever read. Goodbye.

How about a quick #promosky that I may or may not update in the foreseeable future?

I like:
-Ancient and distant cultures
-Art (currently into clay baking stuff)
-Languages
-Dogs and animals in general
-Random hyperfocuses
-Not isreal lol
-Dwarf fortress
-Space
-Prehistory and before
-Long etc
Im going to sleep now. All I can say it's been a year, and everything still goes veery slow. I will start making individual rooms tomorrow. That's how slow it is.
Its winter. Our marksdward and sole soldier is a grand master, nearing legendary. No dorms have been produced yet. Last caravan left nearly empty. It will be difficult.
Tree cave-in happened. Somehow, this yak cow survived despite her hearth being ''mangled beyond recignition''
Dwarf fortress things.
Due to resource scarcity, I have given up on uniformed colors for floors and the like. Everything goes. Fuck it. I will fix it later. Or not. At this pace there's no ''later''.
I accidentally walled the floors below ground, and almost got 6 citizens killed... fortunately I realized soon enough. Building will now pick steam
Everything goes well as of now, albeit painfully slow... we have not even built the third floor yet. Good thing is we should get one more hard coded migrant wave. Next expansion will cover their dorms, as we need to offset the misery of *gas`* touching grass
One of the migrants has brought up a male dog. Let's hope we can get some more pups! We will need canine meatshiel- errr brave warriors if we want to survive the unforgiving outside
The first wave of immigrants arrived! Poor sods, they don't know how things work here. Get to work! Unlike those filthy cave dwellers, here we don't take the walls and ceiling for granted!
Our dwarf is an expert crossbow user already! The moment we get our hands on sweet metal bolts, no one will stand a chance!
Apart of mining, only planting will be done underground. I don't want my dwarves to develop cave adaptation
Dwarves sleeping on made floor (smothed or just wood/blocks placed in) don't have bad thoughts anymore about grass, dirt or cave floors. This will keep them satisfied until I make the big dorm projects a reality.
Right now we got a functional roof, an aboveground level, and a guy competent enough to repel possible agitated animals (I hope!)
Meanwhile, our ex-mason is already an adequate archer. Seems marksdwarves train up far faster than melee warriors (outside live training), a reward worth all the headaches they give
We'll build the roof now! I'll put beds below, so they at least can sleep without rain bothering them
Nevermind. He seems to be finally on the grind. Now I can continue my fortress
He's not training. Again. I'm going insane, the fuck he wants
She ran away... sigh.. off we go to training
After great struggles, I managed to train a single marksdwarf. Like, he's actually training. Which is huge because holy shit, this game is a gem but it can get clunky sometimes. Now I'll savescum to see if I can order him to got teach that croco dog killer a lesson.
Meanwhile, a crocodile woman and one of the dogs interacted. So damn frustrating the hunter won't target her.
This guy is fucking getting haggar'd in a year tops. Begs the question, can dwarves get over their trauma? Can they eventually not give a fuck about conflicts?
Since big animals are starting to arrive (albeit still peacefully), I'll make the mason be the hunter. It's the most useless job right now anyways. And this way he'll be trained so when agitated beasts arrive he can hold his own.
Making wooden bolts is also great to stimulate the economy. Big money is paid for them
We immediately clear the zone and set a crossbow and several bolt stacks to be built

Wood may be shitty, but will keep animals at bay and hopefully weaken them enough for dogs and civilians to take them on
Ah yeah, almost forgot! The fort, minus mining activities, will be ENTIRELY ABOVEGROUND

Let's see how it goes lol
Purepages is born amidst lots of aquifers. Fortunately no agitated animals yet, but Ill thread carefully. We'll set one of the dwarves to hunt, in case any hostile arrives he'll be ready to pepper it with bolts.
