Yale Center for British art acquired a painting by Elizabeth Emma Soyer. Soyer died an 29, she left only a small oeuvre.

The best tip (imo) for illustrated books: never repeat what's in the text in the image. Always add something to the narrative in the image. Think of the art and words as two widgets in a machine with slightly different jobs that work together to make the machine work.
