Downtown Providence flooded from the storm surge. Thankfully, she was home by then.

The bus never came, so she and a friend started walking home and were able to hitch a ride part of the way home.
My mother-in-law had finished classes for the day at RI College of Education and was waiting in downtown Providence for the bus home to Cranston. Folks at the bus stop noticed it was getting windy and had no idea what was coming.
