I wasn’t raised by American Catholics so perhaps I had a different experience. My dad is a brown man from southern Europe and I was raised in a Hispanic neighborhood. This might be a white catholic thing.

The “Jews killed Jesus” is more of an evangelical thing than a Catholic thing. I’m 45 years old and it’s never been a Catholic thing in my lifetime.

There have been a lot of changes in the Church on that front as well. Changes in leadership really made a difference, especially when Francis took over. I almost left the Church when Benedict was pope because of how it was not being handled.
