MAGA is an ideology. Having a mental illness is a medical condition and can even be classified as a disability, albeit an invisible one. By characterizing the inarguably mindless adherents of MAGA as clinically mentally ill, you and OP are stigmatizing those of us who are genuinely sick.

Separate statehood remains untouched for now due to its utility - sympathetic state governors are much more cooperative when given free reign to do what they choose in their own domain - but one must ask, for how much longer will this be the case? When will blue states become “the enemy?”

Congress will not restrain the Executive branch in spite of the numerous illegal actions of the executive, so swift illegal actions continue, sometimes halted by a laconic judiciary, but more often upheld.

Call me paranoid, but there are not enough words to describe how very perilous of a situation we are in. The emboldened executive branch has now realized that they can take many - if not *any* - action they choose and that other forces can only feebly use intensely slow legal actions against them.

You inspired me to look for other places to help. I found this today, decided to put some of these items in the box outside my door for delivery people. I just keep packaged snacks and sodas in there. I think delivery people make a lot less than most people think, they might rely on snap/FBs.

Halloween ideas - if you are passing out candy this year, consider adding shelf stable kid foods to your treat bucket. With snap benefits., some families are struggling more than usual. Let’s support our neighbors in small but meaningful ways. ideas to include: Ramen cups, microwave mac & cheese, protein bars, snack pudding cups, chips, or pretzels, mini muffins.

I hope he wins. It will be a shining moment for a crumbling republic, and a source of endless consternation for the regime that the voice of the people - for a time - still has some influence.

This will take decades to clean up if it’s even recoverable. I wake up every day wanting to be wrong.

They’ve shown time and again that they hate trans people and immigrants enough to vote against their own best interests. And non voters have yet to show up as long as things are good enough to keep tiktok running. Short of another black swan disaster, we are cooked.

It’s great. There are similarities to older chat rooms and forums as far as curation goes. And I also love the power of the block button. And the lack of individualized ads.
